(1) Kaepernick; (2) RGIII; (3) Manziel; (4) Tebow

It's astonishing to think that one of these guys is on Elway's radar!

Does 49ers' reported signing of QB Thad Lewis portend a Colin Kaepernick trade to Broncos?

Broncos general manager John Elway told reporters during a joint workout with the 49ers last August in Colorado he was a Kaepernick fan.

“I’ve always liked Colin,” Elway said at the time. “He’s very athletic and he can make a lot of big plays. He’s doing more within the pocket ... if he continues to do that, it will help him.

“He’s a great athlete, and he’s got that big-play ability to avoid things and make things happen.”

Id have to go Kap only cause he could still use his wheels

I see RG3 as pretty useless now with his broken wheels

No matter what, Denver for me has become a 7-9 team pretty damn quick

More cause of the defensive hits than the QB hit

Fitzpatrick!

Manziel is not a serious candidate for any serious NFL team. Tebow either (for different reasons). The other two...yikes...but it might be all that's available.

Kaepernick, RG3, no, no.

But I'd also look at Fitzpatrick.

Defense will be fine. Maybe not as good as last year, but still really good. Losing Malik hurts, but Denver is deep at linebacker so they can withstand the loss of Trevathan.

9/11 starters from the #1 D back and good depth and you are concerned about the Broncos D?

Fitzpatrick or Kaepernick depending what the Broncos would have to give up which shouldn't be much.

Yeah, and it's not like either of those guys were the best player on the defense, either. Malik was probably 5th or 6th (Miller, Ware, Talib, and Harris Jr, and maybe Wolfe) and Trevathan was probably 8th (behind the rest of those guys and Brandon Marshall). Denver's defense will be fine.

What I'm really interested in seeing is how Malik Jackson fares without Miller and Ware occupying multiple blockers next year. Don't get me wrong, I think he's really good, but he did benefit a lot from 1 on 1 matchups because offenses were so worried about the outside guys.

Just on NFL Network......49ers want a second round pick. Browns have also entered the fray for Kaep. Broncos according to NFL Network have started looking seriously at RG III.

I wouldn't give up a second. A third maybe, but not a second.

I thought I read this morning that RG3 was signing with the Browns? Of course, I was half asleep at the time so maybe I imagined it.

I would go.

1. RG3
2. Fitz
3. Kaep, only if released...no trade

I wouldn't touch JM or Tebow.

No worries there, Elway don't like Tebow and his expressions of his beliefs.....
I don't think Fitz would work in Kubes system very well even though he is the best of those qb's....
I think JM is as good a prospect as Kap and Barney Fife would be a better one than RG3&out IMO...
Kap would probably fit the system but not worth a trade unless it's a 7th rounder....
My analysis , Broncos are in deep do do and don't really have a good option to take...
Best bet, draft a qb, bring in JM on the cheap and take the down yr to develop the rook for next yr.....
Not enticing but what else is ???

My personal ranking:
1. Tebow
2. Tebow
3. Tebow
4. Tebow
And to add a 5th guy they should look at, Tim Tebow.

According to the Den front office though, it's probably Kaep, RG3, and the other two probably aren't even in consideration. At least Billy Football better not be.

OC...I can go along with all of that except JM...he's not NFL starter material...no way would I even consider him over RG3 or Kaep.

Both RG3 and Kaep come with their own set of problems (that's why they are on the market, right?) but talent wise both are considerably ahead of Manziel imo. Dumb it down if you need to and build them back up...basically what Harbaugh did with Alex Smith.

In either case I agree they need a backup plan from the draft.
