Wows. I guess Diaz got smart. Ground versus stand up. Diaz kept saying Connor got submitted by two nobodys.

Poor Vegas lol
Usually their better than this.

They make Holly a huge favorite despite Tate having the wrestling in her game to hard counter Holm's standup. I know Holm KO'd Rousey but remind me of what she did in her other 2 UFC fights that was impressive and who it was against. Tate's beaten better opponents she just can't beat Ronda. This fight should have 50/50 on the books but Vegas made Tate a pretty big underdog against someone still very much unproven.

McGregor is somehow a huge favorite in a fight he moves up 2 weight classes for? Has that ever happened? At 145lb's sure McGregor is a big favorite but 170lbs? Another case of the books being set off the previous fights. McGregor KO'd Aldo in impressive fashion and Aldo was up until then untouchable, but that KO came so quick we didn't get to see much to know how he would have handled Aldo's game. Diaz looked so much bigger as well. I was wondering if he was going to be dumb Diaz and keep it standing or be smart Diaz and just throw the smaller guy to the ground. Soon as he decided he wanted he did just that; tossed Conner down and choked him out easily.

Vegas is hurting tonight folks.

On the books it sure it, but logically it's not. The Wrestler beat the Boxer and the Bigger guy beat the Smaller guy. Vegas over valued Holm's and McGregor's previous wins over 2 legends.

Did a lot of money go in on the underdogs? If the lines stayed the same, then there was about equal money on both sides and Vegas did fine. I can't imagine a lot of action against McGregor. Holm/Tate who knows.

I know the guy that won big on the Royals winning the World Series and big again on Holm beating Rousey had like 77k on Tate. He's made a ton of money in the last 6 months.

Diaz didn't take the fight to the ground. Nate rocked him multiple times, Conner was in trouble. While in the process of lighting Conner up again, Conner shot for a desperate take down. Nate stuffed the take down, put Conner on his back, mounted him, then easily transitioned to an RNC when Conner was flopping around like a fish out of water.

Crappy part about McGregor losing though is rumors were circling of him and GSP putting on a Super Fight at UFC 200. GSP was in attendance for this fight as well, but that fight is so not happening now. GSP might not ever come out of semi-retirement. It seems he has 0 interesting in another run as champion and who could blame the guy, but it does seem he would be interested in a big fight. Who would be a legit big fight for him though? We wanted Silva vs GSP for years but there's not money in that fight now with Silva looking so washed up. There's really no one around the 170lb weight class that's a huge name right now =\

Congratulations Nate Diaz! McGregor got rocked & thought is was a good idea to take Diaz down. That's a guy that really overestimated his ability on the ground against a more skilled opponent. McGregor took a lot of shots in that fight. I think he'll go back to fighting smaller guys.

Kinzu, GSP would have taken McGregor down and won by GnP or submission.

Agreed, McGregor did lots of talking about how he was going to knock out Diaz in one round. Diaz knew that if he could hang in there eventually he could beat McGregor and that's exactly what happened. It was a great fight.

What a crazy night of fights... Couple of big upsets. Didn't care much for the first 2 fights. The Lawler/Anderson fight was ok, but couldn't figure out why Lawler let that fight slip away. He was clearly winning after round 1 then just coasted the rest of the match out.

Wasn't all that impressed with Holly Holm. She looked intense and set the pace, but once Tate took her to the ground the first time you got the sense that it was an upset in the making. Holly had the fight dialed in through mid-way into Rd 3. All she had to do was avoid getting taken down to the mat by Tate. But kudos to Tate by shooting at the right time.

McGregor was far too cocky. Even though he moved up 2 weight classes he looked dominant. He's clearly one of the better UFC boxers out there, but he let his ego do too much talking in this one. All the dropping of his hands was completely unnecessary. He gave Diaz loads of free shots throughout the match. The 1-2 combo that finally dazed him was a direct result from it. If he would have kept his hands up then it wouldn't have happened and he easily would have won that fight. Diaz wasn't trying to take him to the mat so the entire fight was in McGregor's favor. Once he got dazed then he made a desperation move to take Diaz down which made it easy for Diaz to finish the fight. Hopefully McGregor learns from this and doesn't let his ego get too big again. He'll be back and dominant once again.
