Now if only they can get their academics above being ranked around #200 and a membership to the AAU.

Plus they need to break their academic tie with Illinois Institute of Technology and University of the Pacific.

They are so close to the Big 10 standards that the invite is imminent.
You not hear? They don't go to the B1G to play school.

Umm no. Just no. Did you not see what happened to Nebraska's pipeline into Texas? While I believe the RRSO would most likely be continued wherever Oklahoma moved, there is the possibility it might not, at least for a while. That's a huge game recruits come to Oklahoma to play in. Yeah, we'd get to revive the ou/Nebraska rivalry but it's not the same thing as the rrso.

If Oklahoma went to the sec that really wouldn't be an issue. Lots of teams over there recruits would want to come play against and in some awesome atmospheres. Plus it would give us an opportunity to get our foot in the door a little more in places like Florida.

A move to the PAC is less desirable imo, but still better than the B1G because we already have a pipeline into California which we could strengthen. We have no pipeline into big 10 country.

Trust me. If Oklahoma moves to the Big10 we will not be an elite team again for a long long time.

As a Wisconsin fan who lives fairly close to Oklahoma, it would be awesome to see them there every other year.

As a Wisconsin graduate who values the academic reputation of the B1G, it would be a disaster. I thought letting Nebraska into the conference looked bad, but Nebraska rejects 50% more applicants.

If Oklahoma could angle for the B1G West, which they would fit, they could almost guarantee a legit shot at the B1G championship game every year. And contrary to what most posters think success cures any qualms about switching conferences.

Oklahoma immediately renews a rivalry with Nebraska and crossover rivalry with say MSU, UofM, PSU, or OSU would be huge exposure and get Oklahoma into the East Coast for recruiting.

The B1G would need 1 more team to keep the conferences equal. But it would allow Oklahoma to give Texas the middle finger while going out the door.

All good in thought but the B1G is not looking to expand and Oklahoma would need to meet the academic standards.

Very possible, but unlikely imo. That's one of the top 4 rivalries in football. I don't see it going away.

OK, what happened to Nebraska's pipeline from Texas? Nebraska NEVER had a pipeline into Texas. Nebraska's average has been around seven players on the entire roster each year from Texas for quite sometime. Missouri is the one that really upped their Texas player recruiting while in the Big 12, currently at 14 Texas players on the Missouri roster. Bo Pelini could and did recruit players from Texas.

Mike Riley might not be able to.

I am not sure why posters like you continue to post this fallacy. Because it is completely false. Nebraska has never been dependent on Texas for players like Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Current players on Nebraska from Texas, 11 players

Tommy Armstrong, starting QB
Drew Brown, starting kicker
Devine Ozigbo will be starting Tail back
Charles Jackson
Dwayne Johnson
Josh Kalu, starting CB
Chongo Kondolo was starting on the O line but was replaced by Zack Sterup, then Nebraska started winning games.
Trai Mosley, he is transferring
Givens Price
Adam Taylor, probably be transferring, stud texas RB but breaking his ankle is rumored to have slowed him down
Jamal Turner

For 2016, Nebraska has zero recruits from Texas.

Texas will NEVER give up the OU rivalry. OU can make all sorts of threats to Texas because TEXAS needs the rivalry to remain relevant. Let us not forget the OU threat from September 4, 2011. Texas and Dan Beebe remember it quite well.

Posting your roster with players from Texas now proves nothing. What did your rosters look like in the 90's and early 2000's?

Having Oklahoma and maybe Kansas or Notre Dame join the BIG would have made WAY more sense than Rutgers and Maryland... at least from a fan's standpoint, maybe not as far as money's concerned. But I'd rather not do any more re-aligning.. I hate seeing these conferences break apart only to see their teams join somewhere that doesn't make sense.

I don't mind realignment if it makes sense from a fans stand point. Notre dame, Oklahoma, or Ga Tech yes, teams for the B1G Network no.

Out of pure curiosity i googled 2010 nebraska football roster. There were 21 players from Texas that year.

But I thought they never had more than 7... It's like a team mandate or something.

Were they better in 1995 (with 7 tejas recruits) or 2010 (with 21 tejas recruits)?

Maybe tejas recruits ain't all they're cracked up to be?

Hell no. Who's going to travel to see Indiana, Rutgers, Illinois, Minnesota, etc? It will never happen. The future is southeast, west or keep withering on the vine in the Zombie Conference.
