I get what you're seeing, but this team out performed expectations this year. Yeah, it sucks to lose, but this was supposed to be a rebuilding year, I'm not sure how anyone could be too disappointed. If we get a couple guys to step up at WR, OL, and LB/DE where we have a lot of talent next year, we should be better.

I look at that game and some of the other Big12 games played so far and Clemson should worry. It appears the Big12 was way overrated this year based on inflated records of beating teams equally as bad in conference.

Probably right, OU had luck by facing the better teams short handed. Baylor at full strength probably would have made the playoffs, if not them, a full strength TCU. But this was a good season for OU's youngsters, now they realize they have to get better in order to compete. I'm not sold on the ACC either, I think Bama wins number 5 for Saban.

Yes they should. After watching what a very depleted 4th place Baylor team did to UNC, Clem should be worried... considering UNC took them to the wire in the ACC CCG. Either that or the UNC/Clem game was a fluke.

OU did well. They were never good enough to win a title. The OL is not great and the DL is merely mediocre. Great skill guys though. Team was always a year away. Big 12 feel apart with injuries and OU stayed healthy. They out produced their talent. Fans should be happy.

Oklahoma was the default team to win the Big 12. They were really only the 3rd best squad.
We can give them grief, but they were not really a great team.

It was a case where two programs with all the talent and expectations (TCU/Baylor) blew it.

Baylor and its asshole coach ruined their whole season by being dicks and trying to run up the score vs ISU.
TCU let the ego run wild. Its players could not follow rules or the criminal laws of the land.

Baylor and TCU would have kicked the shit out of Oklahoma/Oklahoma State at full strength.
It got so bad that TEXAS beat Baylor at Baylor.

Both of those two schools are not used to winning and they screwed up their best chance ever.

I am not sure either ever gets another golden ticket again.

It would be the same if Alabama did something stupid mid-season......
and Georgia had to be the default SEC team.

I don't know that I'd put any stock in that win over MSU. They were less than impressive this whole season and every time they beat a top team, it was in a 'what the fuck happened to the other team' type of day. MSU is well coached, but the talent just isn't there. I'd say that OU is a little better than MSU and the Clemson/OU score doesn't truly indicate just how outmatched OU was.

meh, consider the source....

as for the lost chances, at least OU has had the opportunity to play in those games. there are a lot of schools whose teams have never been sniffed at that opportunity and some of those fans are the most insufferable.

ya, it sucks to lose, but I am very proud of this years OU team and think Stoops et al, did one of their better coaching jobs with these guys.

As for Clemson being in trouble, personally I think Bama is going to have their hands full. Should be a good game.
