Petersen stayed within the program to hire the Washington Huskies’ new receivers coach, and augmented the job titles of two other Huskies assistants.

The school announced on Tuesday that Bush Hamdan, who spent the 2015 season as an offensive quality control coach at UW, has been promoted to full-time receivers coach and pass-game coordinator. He takes over for Brent Pease, who was fired Dec. 4 after two seasons at UW. Hamdan had been coaching UW’s receivers in the interim.

Additionally, Jimmy Lake, the team’s second-year defensive backs coach, has been promoted to co-defensive coordinator along with current defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski, and linebackers coach Bob Gregory has taken on the title of special-teams coordinator, a position left vacant by the departure of Jeff Choate to Montana State (though Choate is staying at UW through the bowl game).

Lake bolstered his resume this season when two of UW’s defensive backs, Sidney Jones and Budda Baker, were named first-team All-Pac-12. The Huskies allowed only nine passing touchdowns this season and intercepted 15 passes.

The Huskies now have one opening left, D-line coach, left to fill.

Huskies 2016 schedule. Don't play UCLA or Colorado. As usual, every game will matter with every W critical for bowl positioning in the PAC. OOC looks very doable for 3 Ws. But then we're in it thick right out of the gate with @zona, Stanford, and @Oregon. I like it that we got the Ducks early like that.

But good lord, look at the month of Nov. while USC and ASU got to come up here and get their tushys cold, that's still going to be the difference maker in the Huskies quest for more than 7 wins. And apple cup will be @WSU and they'll be looking for revenge after we pulled their pants down on national tv a few weeks ago.

All in all, very tough PAC schedule as usual. Our D is setup for a great year. Just hoping the offense can kick it into next gear in 2016.

9/3 vs. Rutgers

9/10 vs. Idaho

9/17 vs. Portland State

9/24 @ Arizona

9/30 vs. Stanford

10/8 @ Oregon

10/22 vs. Oregon State

10/29 @ Utah

11/5 @ Cal

11/12 vs. USC

11/19 vs. ASU

11/25 at WSU

As I said about this schedule on our board anything less than 8 is utter failure. You get Stanford and Oregon early enough that their new QB's might still give you something to target and ASU after their normal collapse. Utah and Cal shouldn't scare you much even if they are road games. Browning and Petersen in general, seem to not have that massive disparity between how they play at home vs the road like UW had under Sark. I can find 9 wins for a team that is supposed to field what should be a seasoned defense and an offense ready to take the next step.

I don't predict game by game results. Never have/never will. No one comes out right with those. Of all of their games the 3 ooc are garbage. Not just garbage, but fucking garbage. If you rank whats left in order of difficulty and say just look at the toughest 5 - Oregon, Stanford, USC, WSU, and ASU I could make a case where UW wins the others and finds a way to come out on top in 2 of those 5. Of course no fan of any of those 5 thinks UW will beat them and of course the others on the list are offended and going to win by double digits. That's what fans do.

I expect both to play better than this year . I don't know how you feel Washington played to win that game but USC was a total mess. It was the worst game they played in years. Pitiful. The only question is how did Washington only beat them by 5 points?

I love people from once proud teams that offer up weak ass excuses. No, I really do. It's quite amusing.
Who doesn't like seeing people that have to diss on their own team in a lame attempt to disparage another.

A team full of mostly true freshmen/true sophomores went fairly early on the road and beat a team with supposed much higher talent and a lot more seasoned game experience in their house. The same team that went on to win the Pac12 South.

Now had Sark been suspended like the day before the game and it was at Husky stadium I could understand the distraction excuse. Sark wasn't let go until after that loss. Indeed, it appears that loss sent him over the edge. You have the cause and effect backward.

Amusing that you appear to expect Oregon and USC to play better with some sort of inference that UW won't also be substantially better. Until someone proves them wrong, UW has the strongest defense in the conference and will have all of the key pieces back again. It won't take much but continuing on the same trajectory as they have all this last season for that offense to keep making major steps forward. If you would like to overlook them and underestimate what they might be capable of, but all means do so. It's fully expected.

Tough to win nine when you start 3-3.

LOL. You're a piece of work. That was an utterly pathetic performance from USC. If you had been in the stands you would have heard the crowd rip the effort. They were booed at the end of the first , half time the third quarter and loudly at the end of the game. I wasn't around the team during the week leading up to the game but it was obvious from the start something was terribly wrong.
They went on to win the south because they righted the ship. Any team in the Pac would have beat USC that day. I'm just saying I'm surprised they didnt get beat worse. So i asked a Husky fans opinion of their play that day.
"Amusing that you appear to expect Oregon and USC to play better with some sort of inference that UW won't"
Where in the hell do you get that from anything I wrote today?I wrote I expect them both to play better ( USC and Washington). I know you're paranoid and ultra sensitive but I didn't know you were a mind reader too. So please show me where I wrote that today.

Sun Bowl still blows and Scott's job should be on the line if he keeps this bowl in the rotation any team that's above 6-6

Double down on ripping your own team to try to disparage another.
Weak trolling is weak.

As for the last bit of derp in your post, read again what you were responding to in the first place. Dayman spoke of Oregon and USC. You said you expect both to play better this year. It's not fucking rocket science. :L

Depending on how the D-line looks next year and the new QB, UW and many others might be able to beat Stanford.

To be fair, while he hadn't been fired yet, there is talk that the drinking was still going on and there are rumors that he may have been drunk on the sidelines. So, that likely had some effect on the players.

Having said that, what I saw as the biggest factor in that game was Washington's defense. If memory serves, that was the first game that anyone saw how fast and athletic that defense really was. It ended up being the strength of the team for the rest of the season. More than anything, that was the difference in the game.

USC's defense held Washington to 17 points in that game. I think if you asked anyone what they thought the outcome would be if the Huskies only scored 17 points, they'd have said USC wins by at least 10. I don't think anyone saw the Huskies defense only giving up 12 points.

Would we have had a different outcome if Sark weren't going through his issues or had been fired immediately after the Salute to Troy incident? I don't know. I just know that I saw a defense with some good players figure out just how good it really was.
