Yeah I have been a bit unlucky. Need to make some better roster choices to win those tight games. If Dez never gets hurt i'm 3-1 but what can you do. Might listen to offers on one of my TE's if anyone is interested.

Keepers Recap

Bandit over Barilko 102-59. Bandit got double digits from Rodgers, Ingram, Garcon, Bennett, Ted Ginn, and Chandler Catanzaro on his way to an easy 102-59 win over Barilko, who could have made a little more interesting if he started Vincent Jackson instead of Spoles in the flex, but it still would have come up short. Barilko's got some work to do to climb out of the hole he's in as he's last in points and breakdown. Bandit moves to 2-2 and Barilko falls to 0-4.

Treff escapes over Ram 92-89. In the game of the week in the Keepers, Treff was 6 inches from losing this game, but because Calvin Johnson fumbled at the half yard line instead of scoring in the final minute he pulled out the victory. The forced fumble gave him 2 points, and the 7 points for the touchdown would have taken away another two points which would have given Ram an 89-88 victory. That's a tough one to lose Ram. Just brutal. Treff moves into 1st place in the Athos division at 3-1 and Ram falls to 2-2.

Chef over Fuzzy 117-82. And once again for the fourth straight week Fuzzy was involved in the highest score in the entire MBBRL, unfortunately for him, this is two straight weeks that he's been on the wrong side of it with Chef exploding for 117 points (I know if doesn't sound like an explosion, but this week it was with all the low scores). Chef got 32 from Rivers, 20 from Leveon, and 18 from the Panthers D on his way to the win. Fuzzy finally got a game out of Gurley, but has to be concerned about Antonio Brown with Vick at quarterback. Both teams had 0 points on their bench. Chef moves to 3-1 with his third straight win and stays in 1st place in the Porthos division and Fuzzy falls to 2-2.

Tlance over Milk 105-68. The wizard came back this week to score over 100 again getting 20 out of Bortles, 22 from Ivory, 12 from Crowell, 15 from Deandre Hopkins, and 15 from Justin Tucker. That was enough as Milk got disappointing games from Melvin Gordon, Carlos Hyde, and Julio Jones totaling 7 points between them. Tlance moves to 3-1 and Milk falls to 2-2.

Joe over TKO 86-73. Joe has the fantasy monster that is Devonta Freeman who had 32 points and got enough from the Jets D and Keenan Allen to pull out the win. He has to be concerned about the quarterbacks on his roster though after Peyton's performance again. TKO got 24 from Hill, 17 from Russell Wilson and not much help from anybody else. Joe moves to 3-1 with his third straight win and TKO falls to 0-4. TKO also needs to kick it up a notch as he is 2nd to last in points and breakdown and there is a pretty good gap between him and the next spot up. Maybe this will be the week he turns things around.

Lefty over Sam 66-62. In the shame of the week Lefty limped just a little bit faster than Sam did this week to pull out an exciting? win. Lefty got 19 from Dalton and 19 from Doug Martin and not much else and hopefully he is done with the Jordan Cameron project at this point. Sam has to be beating himself up a bit because if he would have started either David Johnson or Ronnie Hillman over Reggie Bush he would have won easily. Ouch!! Lefty moves to 1st place in the Aramis division at 3-1 with his third straight win and Sam falls to 1-3.

Barbarians Recap

BK over OBX 94-80. In the battle of initials, BK pulled out a win behind the 26 from Brees, 15 from Peterson, 15 from Forsett and 13 from the Jets D. OBX got a really good game from Doug Martin, but nobody else exceeded expectations other than the Raiders D. BK moved to 2-2 and OBX falls to 1-2-1.

Stomp over Micro 101-58. Stomp was the only team in the Barbarians to crack the century mark. He had 6 guys score in double digits (Russell Wilson, Ingram, Crowell, Marshall, Panthers D, and Tucker) and that was with Arian Foster coming back to pull him 1 freaking point. Micro left Andrew Luck in his lineup, but since his backup was Stafford and he only had 8 points, it really wouldn't have made that much of a difference since he didn't get much help from anybody other than Maclin and Hauschka, although he might have found some help with the performance that Gurley put up. Stomp moves to 2-2 and Micro falls to 1-3 with his third straight loss.

Steelers over Shady 85-81. Steelers came up with a big win to move into first place in the Huns division getting double digit games from Tyrod Taylor, Jamaal Charles, Karlos Williams, Keenan Allen, and Martellus Bennett, which was just enough to hold off Shady and the 32 he got from Freeman, but everybody else was a disappointment in his lineup. Steelers moves to 2-1-1 in 1st place in the Huns division and Shady falls to 1-3 with the most points and best breakdown record.

Monkey over Smitty 98-61. Monkey got his 2nd straight win with strong performances from Andy Dalton, Leveon Bell, Ted Ginn, Charles Clay, the Rams D. Monkey has made a nice comeback after a slow start. It's funny how getting your first round draft pick back from suspension will do that. Smitty lost his 2nd straight, but he'll get Gronk and Edelman back this week. Both teams are now 2-2.

Cheesehead over Foot 75-52. Cheesehead stayed undefeated by putting a Gorgonzola hex on Foot so he would forget to play a quarterback and leave Mariota in on a bye. Cheesehead did get 15 from Tannehill and 22 from Ivory along with 13 from the Broncos D. Foot got down games from Melvin Gordon and Antonio Brown to go along with his no quarterback. Cheesehead is 4-0 and in first place in the entire universe. Foot falls to 2-2.

Harold and Face tie 73-73. Another freaking tie. Come on man. Although it shouldn't have been a tie since Face started Andre Ellington who was out. If he had played Decker, that 10 points would have put him over the top. Face also could have started the Patriots defense who was on bye and won by 2 since the Texans pulled him -2 points. Of course Harold went into the Monday night game only trailing by 2 with Jimmy Graham still to go, so naturally Graham had two freaking points to continue his down year. This game was a traveshamockery all around. Harold falls to 1-2-1 and Face is in 1st place in the Visogoths at 2-1-1.

League Notes

The Keepers outscored the Barbarians 1001-931 which extends their overall lead for the season to 4539-4302 or 237 points. The A league left 256 points on their benches and the B league was even worse leaving 304 points on their benches.

The difference in scoring for week 4 compared to week 3 is striking. The Keepers scored 265 less points this week which is an average of 44 less points per matchup and the Barbarians scored 313 less points this week, which is an average of 52 less points per matchup! I guess the Patriots and Titans are responsible for a shitload of scoring.

Bandit has opened up an 8 game lead in the coveted MBBRL wide breakdown over Fuzzy. The top 3 teams in MBBRL breakdown are in the Keepers league and 5 of the top 6. In fact, only 3 teams have a winning MBBRL breakdown record in the Barbarians which shows the dominance that the Keepers have had this year so far. Come on Barbarians you guys need to pick it up!!

OH CANADA!! Apparently there is something brewing up there in Canada this year with TKO and Barilko a combined 0-8 in the Keepers league. They are gonna have to fight like hell to keep the Great White North represented in the Keepers. They might be cracking open the Molson and glad that the hockey regular season kicks off tonight.

This is your last week with no relegation or oblivion/purgatory talk, but right now Shady would still get the golden ticket to the A league based on breakdown record, which is amazing because he is 1-3 on the season yet holds a four game lead in breakdown.

4 teams in the Keepers have over 400 points, but only Shady does in the Barbarians.

Talk about a strange year, in the Keepers league the top four teams (Fuzzy, Joe, Tlance, Bandit) in the power rankings are not in first place in their divisions and in the Barbarians league the guy with the most points and best breakdown record is tied for the worst record.

The Huns division needs to pick it up as they have the three worst teams in the Barbarians league based on power rankings.

Cheesehead is still the only undefeated team at 4-0, which gives him a 2 game lead on the entire Barbarians league right now.

Next week's matchups:

Keepers of the Flame

Bandit (2-2) v. TKO (0-4)
Joe (3-1) v. Ram (2-2)
Barilko (0-4) v. Tlance (3-1)
Sam (1-3) v. Fuzzy (2-2)
Chef (3-1) v. Lefty (3-1)
Milk (2-2) v. Treff (3-1)

Barbarians at the Gate

Shady (1-3) v. OBX (1-2-1)
Monkey (2-2) v. Steelers (2-1-1)
Stomp (2-2) v. Face (2-1-1)
Harold (1-2-1) v. Micro (1-3)
Foot (2-2) v. BK (2-2)
Smitty (2-2) v. Cheesehead (4-0)
And here is your standings sheet

Week 4 Recap

Sorry guys, this one's a little long and the damn hoop won't even let me put it in one message so I have to break it up into 2 as apparently 11,000 characters is the most you get, like anybody can say what needs to be said with a measly 11,000 characters :D

So week 4 is in the books and what did we learn? Apparently not much the first 3 weeks since only four teams could even manage to score 100 points this week in the entire MBBRL yet we had seven score under 70 points last week. Hell three matchups even failed to reach 150 combined points for the two teams playing. So what happened?

One thing we learned for sure is that picking the top quarterbacks week-to-week is not an easy thing to do. Of the top 10 quarterbacks last week it's very possible that none of them were started in some leagues. They are in order Philip Rivers (32), Sam Bradford (29), Drew Brees (26), Josh McCown (26), Eli Manning (24), Nick Foles (24), Kirk Cousins (23), Jay Cutler (21), Brian Hoyer (21), and Blake Bortles (20). Not exactly a plethora of top quarterbacks. The only guy in the consensus top 10 quarterbacks in the pre-season on this list is Brees, and he was saved by throwing a 9 point pass on the last play of the game.

QB Notes:

The Falcons running game is killing Matt Ryan owners right now.

Peyton Manning is going to be good some weeks and bad some weeks, but he's not going to be pulling 25 points every game anymore.

Russell Wilson is not the top five quarterback that everybody was touting him to be in pre-season.

If you somehow drafted Kaepernick or Stafford as your quarterback I'm sorry.

If you had it to do over again as of this week is there any way that your top two quarterbacks aren't Rodgers and Brady?

Running backs on the other hand at least had some familiar names in the top ten with Devonta Freeman, (that guy has turned into a beast) Jeremy Hill who turned 9 carries into 3 touchdowns, Chris Ivory, Leveon Bell, Doug Martin, Adrian Peterson, and Justin Forsett, with Todd Gurley (who looked great) and Jamaal Charles just outside the top ten. Time to cut ties with C.J. Anderson, Hillman is going to be the back in Denver. Melvin Gordon had a dream matchup with Cleveland and delivered 3 whole points. And speaking of dream matchups, Latavius Murray had 3 points and got benched against Chicago. Arian Foster returned to do nothing in a blowout loss to Atlanta including a stupid fumble to bring his whopping total to 1 point.

RB Notes:

I don't understand how Devonta Freeman can look so bad in pre-season that he loses his starting job to Tevin Coleman and then so good the last two weeks. It will be interesting to see what Atlanta does when Coleman is back because he was playing well when he got hurt.

Todd Gurley looked like the real deal against a very good Arizona defense.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on in the Redskins backfield or the Giants backfield other to avoid both like the plague at this point.

Why isn't Lamar Miller getting more touches in Miami? It's driving me freaking crazy.

I know that Hill scored three touchdowns last week, but anybody that has watched that offense knows that Bernard has been a much better running back this season and he actually had more touches than Hill last game, Hill just got the goal line carries.

Is the Eagles offensive line or Demarco Murray? Probably a little of both, but Ryan Matthews didn't seem to have near as much problem running when he started in week 3.

The Arizona backfield is also going to be very crowded when Ellington comes back. I have no idea how they will split up the reps between the three of them.

People that were worried about Jonathan Stewart's fantasy value being hurt by not scoring touchdowns were absolutely right.

The real reason nobody scored any points in week 4 though, look no further than the wide receivers. There were 22 that scored in double digits last week. The only one taken in the first 3 rounds of the draft was Deandre Hopkins and he was the last pick of the 3rd round. That means none of the 13 receivers taken ahead of him scored in double digits. What's even more amazing is that 11 of the 22 that scored those double digits are free agents. That means 50% of the top scoring wide receivers last week nobody owned.

WR Notes

Time to get rid of Roddy White, Andre Johnson, and Davante Adams, if you've been holding out hope that they would get better, it's not going to happen.

Antonio Brown is going to get hurt badly by Big Ben being out. Michael Vick just isn't an accurate passer and missed a wide open Brown several times. This also applies to Martavis Bryant who comes back this week.

When your quarterback only throws for 60 or 70 yards a week it's hard to be relevant as a fantasy wide receiver, which means Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith are not relevant.

Jeremy Maclin has already proved me wrong with just his performance the last two weeks. He's definitely who Alex Smith is looking for in the passing game.

Both Jets wide receivers turned out to be steals, whether it's Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker, both have looked good.

It would be nice if sleepers like Jarvis Landry, Charles Johnson, Devin Funchess, Nelson Agholor, and Dorial Green-Beckham, and Brandon Coleman would wake up, they've been napping long enough.

Another reason for no big games was that there were only 6 tight ends in double digits, nobody had more than 14 points, and only 2 of the top 10 were owned (Martellus Bennett, Charles Clay). Jake Stoneburner and Ed Dickson both had 7 points once again proving that tight end values (outside of Gronk) are strictly tied to catching touchdowns. And in case anybody is wondering C.J. Fiedorowicz is still available on waivers and he had 6 points last week. Now you have to guess what team he plays for.

Tight End notes

Everybody knew that Gronk was the most value at any position available in the draft this year, but now it's clear that he honestly he should probably have been the #1 pick in the draft when you compare what he brings to the table compared to everybody else at his position. He has 15 more points than any other tight end and that is with being on bye in week 4.

This year it is clear that you should have either drafted Gronk or waiting until the really late rounds to take your tight end. 4 of the top 10 tight ends right now weren't even drafted with Tyler Eifert (3rd), Charles Clay (4th), Gary Barnidge (7th), and Jordan Reed (9th) leading the way.

As bad as tight ends have been this year, I think it could be a perfectly logical decision if you have one of the top five tight ends on bye to just leave him in your lineup and take the zero instead of dropping somebody you want to keep on your bench on the hope that the guy you pick up at tight end scores a touchdown.

At defense it was the same thing as every other position. 9 of the top 12 defenses in scoring last week are not owned including the top 3 (Lions, Falcons, Packers)

It's evident every year that it's impossible to know what defense is going to be good before the season starts. The consensus top 4 defenses this year were the Seahawks who are 4th in scoring, the Bills who are 17th in scoring, the Texans who are 30th in scoring, and the Rams who are 9th in scoring. And one of the "sleeper" defenses that was drafted as a starter in every league was the Dolphins and they are 31st in scoring.

The Broncos defense continues to impress with 80 points through 4 weeks never scoring less than 13, so they are by far the class of the position.

3 of the top 10 overall defenses for the season are still free agents (Vikings, Lions, Falcons)

I'm not doing a section on kickers, it's just not happening.

Did Micro really leave the board over the Lions Board BS @broncosmitty ?
Ummmmmm......

The Committy is focused on That's What Cheesehead. Tough matchup. We've been scuffling as of late. Especially with the Pats on a bye week. Looking to get back over .500 and to take Trudem out of the unbeatens. (He's the only current member.)
