Nice play Elvis.
Wow.....thank you very much!
We were vehemently told there was no way calling him up for a few weeks could set his development back a half season. We shall see.
I believe you said it could set him back a year or more and I said I thought you were overstating things by a good bit. I think we would all be shocked if he is still struggling next June or later. Most all of us expected him to regress when he hit AAA since he had usually done that with each promotion. Granted, he has looked pretty bad in AAA even if a regression was expected. What makes it look even worse though is the early success he had up here for awhile.
I don't think his coming up in June set him back for a year or more. I think he will work in the offseason to correct some things and he will look good in ST again. He has made strides each of the past two offseasons and he probably will again.
What he did offensively while he replaced Beltre in June could be enough to make a huge difference in the end if we only make the postseason by a game or two. Now, him getting a start tonight is another subject altogether.
I still think what he learned up here in June will allow him to not have to learn that in the future when he is called up for good. Like you said though, we shall see.
His struggles at RR didn't warrant a start tonight that's for sure. Who knows though, it seems he was pressing badly tonight and maybe in more ABs down the stretch he doesn't look so awful
I hear you on that. We should have just let things be with him. Striking out 3 times on 10 pitches is no confidence builder. His struggles at RR didn't warrant a start tonight that's for sure. Who knows though, it seems he was pressing badly tonight and maybe in more ABs down the stretch he doesn't look so awful
Agree. I said something about that about 4 posts up. Very lucky hit by Barmes that drove in 2 runs.Hamels also pitched a very nice game and was a bit unlucky.
Agreehate west coast games. have to be up at 5 so didn't get to see the end
