Yeah, but that's false, Hu. Syndergaard seems to be a solid young pitcher who had some rough starts. The Mets are a mediocre team feasting on a cake schedule.
They seem like a different team right now to me. The huge addition of Cepcedes, and the bench additions of Uribe and Johnson along with Wright's return make them much more potent offensively. I still love their starting pitching when we get into the postseason. It will interesting to see how the young pitchers handle the extra workload. It will be super fucking awesome to see the Nats miss the playoffs too. (crosses fingers)

We'll see. You could be right. On the other hand, the only non-complete-shit team they've faced this month is the Pirates and they got swept.

How about that shit, Champ? Outrageous. So many thought they were a lock for the WS, but if they were in any other division, they'd be sub .500. Crazy shit.

The Pirates are ballin! Pretty cool to see what Madden's Cubs are doing too. Looks like the NL Central will be sending 3 teams to the post season.

I love it. The year they shut down Strassburg was their best shot to win it all IMO. Pussies.

No shit. You know I'm a big fan of the new wild card format, but that doesn't mean I can't recognize how bad it would suck to be the Pirates or Cubs and be looking at a one-game play in knowing that you're head and shoulders over the Mets whose ticket is punched. Hell, if you put the Mets in the NLC where a third of their schedule would be against the Cards, Pirates & Cubs instead of the Marlins, Phils & Braves and I bet their record wouldn't be much better -- if any -- than the Reds.

Are you sure?

Let me see if I follow your logic:

A young pitcher has trouble winning against good competition, and it's due to tough luck.

A team has trouble winning against good competition, and it's because the team sucks ass.

Did I do it right?

Oh, you're serious. I thought you were joking.

No, you did not follow my logic. At all.

If you're looking for the Occam's Razored version:

A young pitcher has trouble winning even one of four starts against good competition on the road despite pitching to a sharp 2.59 ERA, it's due to poor run support, or "bad luck."

A team that has the easiest schedule in MLB by a wide margin, whereby a third of their games have been against literally the five worst teams in baseball, has an overall winning record, but has been completely decimated (3-17 vs CHC, PIT & STL), is no where close to a top team in the league.

This really isn't ground breaking stuff.

Cause you ain't got none.

This is you:
"Young pitcher loses games because of poor run support.

Team loses games because...well..um..because, NOT poor run support...it's because they suck. Nyaa."

I can't tell if you don't understand the info I've provided regarding the Mets' schedule and record, or if you're just taking a page out of Rock Strongo's Internet Debate Handbook.

Regardless, I hope for your sake the Mets catch lightening in a bottle if they make the playoffs. They're a combined 7-20 against the other NL playoff teams.

A season's worth of home/road splits aren't really indicative of much. And for chrissakes, he has 46.1 innings on the road. And even then, he has a 3.54 xFIP on the road. He'll be fine.
