people who says "this has no chance in court" dont follow nfl court cases it seems.

and the NFLPA wouldnt do this if they didnt think they had legs.

roch i was a union guy and this statement is full of shit .the nflpa union has no choice but to take it to court do they want to waste the players money nope . they get a great bump if if if if they can get it thrown out on procedure . it boils down to the law broke into my house without cause and found stuff to make a case . do the nfl have the power to give tom brady a 4 game susp ? shit like that . it's not about did he do it ! the last thing the nfl wants to do is give tom brady 4 games .

In the car during lunch and whattaya know...more TB is on...the latest official news is MIN has turned the case back to NY court...supposedly this hurts Brady's chances...I did learn it's a judge's decision case and the tactic was to get the case in front of a historically player friendly bench.

Hugh Douglas had an interesting take from a former player's perspective...he thinks because they spanked IND in such a fashion that the ball thing was almost a joke initially...TB didn't take it seriously...when it became a serious issue and Kraft laid on the sword for him...the game plan was to get this down to 2 games and this goes away, but Brady thought he was bigger than the game and here we are.

Rock...this should be a game or two offense imo...and I do believe that's where it was heading and Brady himself has made it a bigger deal than it had to be.
i said all along a game or 2...im looking forward to seeing jimmy in meaningful games.

i dont think this is "brady thinks hes bigger than the game" i think this is brady saying "why do i have to admit to something everyone does?"

shit, the jags accused the colts ball boys of having ball needles literally up their sleeves...but...we never hear about that.

If T-Brad hadn't lied about it, it would have been a small fine. He forced the NFL to make it a big issue. "The deflator". That still makes me laugh.

I follow them all quite closely.

The NFL has lost a couple of cases in a row because they were trying to retroactively apply punishment.

It's the only reason they have lost. And the NFL likely knew they were going to lose that one but after the Rice fiasco and Goodell admitting he made a mistake of going too light, he decided to just put the hammer down and let the courts fix it so he didn't look bad from a public relations standpoint.

Those cases have nothing to do with this one. Not the same crime, not the same set of rules for punishment.
they have....umm...everything to do with this case.

lol

Brady himself has made it a bigger deal than it had to be.

This is what's so laughable about his fanboys complaining that this was overblown. The only reason this is still a story is because of Brady himself. He single handily cost the Patriots $1 million, a first round draft pick and 4 games without his services.

lmfao

YOU need to read up.

did you know goodell used a first time PED suspension of 4 games to decide bradys punishment?

yup...i know you didnt know that.

its 4 games for a first offense.

and for "failing a test and found using a masking agent?"

6 games...goodells thinking was brady "covered up" (i.e a masking agent equivalent, smashing the phone) and would have gotten 6, but he made it 4...thinking he wouldnt fight it or something along those lines.

lol

telling me to "read up"

rich stuff.

Now Ok go back and see what the NFL precedence is for fining or penalizing teams for breaking the "Unfair Acts Rule" Is there one out there that has gone against a team yet or is this the first one?

Since there has not been a team penalized for breaking the "Unfair Acts" rule a precedence needs to be set and the rule as written gives Goodell the ability to penalize as to what he sems to be just.

In setting his penalty he does not go back and think oh this is worse or not as bad as a first time PED use. He has to think about the integrity of the game and how it could be affected if teams or players create situations that give them an unfair advantage.

Would people stop watching the NFL if teams were constantly doing secret things against the rules?

So please stop comparing the penalty set against the Patriots and Brady to other previous types of penalties because this situation is different than anything that has come up in front of the NFL before.

If there was a previous team deflating footballs and was breaking the "Unfair Acts" rule then Goodell could go back and say ok yes this is what we did in the past for this. The problem is he has no case to go back and look at. The Patriots just happened to be the first team to break the "Unfair Acts" rule and now must pay the penalty for doing so based on what the Commissioner feels is a just penalty.

The penalty may have been less or reduced if there was cooperation in the investigation of course but as we have seen there was not any cooperation.

This penalty will now be there for other teams to see and they will understand just how important it is to cooperate with NFL investigations. It is just to bad for Patriot fans that your team was the first one to learn this

the ray rice case was a no brainer lets say tom brady has gotten the 4 games and then they find out he knew and mastermind of the deflated balls they can't say ok we give you a ban for life . double jepardy

LOL. So all of these charges, investigations, etc are simply due to jealousy from others in the NFL, media & general public? Please - cry me a river. You honestly believe that the Pats have not once been guilty of anything & that somehow the team & their fans are basically martyrs? Give me a break. Why don't you simply enjoy your titles & give this whole "Woe is me" attitude a rest.

"Lies. It's all lies!!!"

This is 100% accurate

Ive said from the day I saw the texts between the 2 equipment guys "I need no more"

Do people really believe those guys were acting on their own and were saying 'Screw Tom", "Screw our jobs"

Doesn't even make a lick of sense

You have common sense, then you have Rock, et al.

So if the ball boys were carrying around ball needles why would that be suspicious? Wouldn't needles be some of the tools you'd expect a ball boy to have?

If you could just point me into the direction of that legal trapeze work...

Because I have seen nothing where you have argued how the retroactively applied punishments in the 3 domestic assault cases that were overturned have any bearing on this case.

indisputable fact....this didnt become news because the patriots werent involved, just like the chargers with that sticky towel, and the vikings/panthers game from last season where sideline heaters were used illegally on balls in game.
