You need to read up on this situation:

The NFL is most likely going with the suspension of 4 games based on doing things against the "Unfair Acts" rule. If a team does "Unfair Acts" such as play with a lower pressure inflated balls compared to the other teams the penalty can be much worse than a $25,000 fine. I dont think it will be hard for the NFL to prove there were Unfair Acts being done by Brady.

The Penalty available for "UnFair Acts" reads as follows:

The penalties for Unfair Acts appear to be unlimited and range from a minimum of fines, suspensions, and lost draft picks, all the way to giving commissioner Roger Goodell the power to replay the game or even rule it a forfeit:

The Commissioner’s powers under this section (UNFAIR ACTS) include the imposition of monetary fines and draft choice forfeitures, suspension of persons involved, and, if appropriate, the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred.

YOU need to read up.

did you know goodell used a first time PED suspension of 4 games to decide bradys punishment?

yup...i know you didnt know that.

its 4 games for a first offense.

and for "failing a test and found using a masking agent?"

6 games...goodells thinking was brady "covered up" (i.e a masking agent equivalent, smashing the phone) and would have gotten 6, but he made it 4...thinking he wouldnt fight it or something along those lines.

lol

telling me to "read up"

rich stuff.

LOL. So all of these charges, investigations, etc are simply due to jealousy from others in the NFL, media & general public? Please - cry me a river. You honestly believe that the Pats have not once been guilty of anything & that somehow the team & their fans are basically martyrs? Give me a break. Why don't you simply enjoy your titles & give this whole "Woe is me" attitude a rest.
........why don't ALL YOU whiney-bastards stop bashing the team......?!!

This is no longer a question of whether Brady is innocent or not. Every reasonable person knows he is guilty. It's now about whether he gets off on a technicality or not.
Hey,.....no [elevator/vid].....NO FKKN PROOF.........!!

yes, and tampering with equipment is a 25k fine.

no one has ever been suspended for "tampering with equipment".

tom brady was smart he got away with it for over 6 year . say 25 grand 10 balls a game and being nice 16 games a year comes to 24, 000,000 so roger gave the pats a break . anyone thinks this was a 1 game thing is just stupid !!!!!!! if if if if if if what if tom brady broke his noodle arm and never played football ? if the world was a great place to live . if no one murdered people ? if we needed no jails ? ifififif

what to watch for next: how ted wells seems to have gotten hold of bradys text messages by violating the law. yup. i wont expand beyond this, i will wait to be proven right when this goes to court.

I guess we can just bump the "I deserve it. Pile on" thread when you are once again wrong.

Brady's case doesn't stand much of a chance. They would have to find one hell of an idiot judge to overturn this. You can't overturn it on the merits of the case (we all know he's guilty and all the evidence points to that). So all they have to argue is about the fairness of the NFL's process. The judge might not agree that it is a perfect system but it is a collectively bargained system that both sides agreed to so even then it is unlikely a judge would overturn.

So he should have gotten six, but it was reduced to four. So what's the issue. It sounds like the only problem is that th NFL isn't make the first step of announcing the original six game suspension.

the "pile it on" was i assumed goodell would reduce it to 2 at the appeal to avoid court, like kraft had assumed too.

again, this is just a theory making the rounds locally...radio.

if tom would've owned up to it he would've walked with 1 or 2 games . the part i loved was they didn't come back with any offer . nfl holding the cards and you are demanding 0 games so how does the nfl go light on your sorry ass ?

Do you really think that Brady and the Pat's weren't deflating footballs? C'mon.

Of course not. If anything was wrong with the footballs the officials who touch them before every snap would have put new balls into the game. They didn't. So we know this is all a bunch of SportsHoopla about nothing. Another case of the whiner getting their way because they whined loud enough and to the right people at the right time. This happens often in our society and even more often here in 2015.

In the car during lunch and whattaya know...more TB is on...the latest official news is MIN has turned the case back to NY court...supposedly this hurts Brady's chances...I did learn it's a judge's decision case and the tactic was to get the case in front of a historically player friendly bench.

Hugh Douglas had an interesting take from a former player's perspective...he thinks because they spanked IND in such a fashion that the ball thing was almost a joke initially...TB didn't take it seriously...when it became a serious issue and Kraft laid on the sword for him...the game plan was to get this down to 2 games and this goes away, but Brady thought he was bigger than the game and here we are.

Rock...this should be a game or two offense imo...and I do believe that's where it was heading and Brady himself has made it a bigger deal than it had to be.

yeah, going to NY hurts brady a lot. the judge they wanted in MN didnt get the case either.

I follow them all quite closely.

The NFL has lost a couple of cases in a row because they were trying to retroactively apply punishment.

It's the only reason they have lost. And the NFL likely knew they were going to lose that one but after the Rice fiasco and Goodell admitting he made a mistake of going too light, he decided to just put the hammer down and let the courts fix it so he didn't look bad from a public relations standpoint.

Every single one of the court cases they have lost was about retroactively applying the new domestic assault policy to players who had committed the crimes before the new policy was put into place.

Those cases have nothing to do with this one. Not the same crime, not the same set of rules for punishment.
