Will DJ make amends for the USO, or will Spieth hang around and bag 3 in a row?
The morning wave had almost no wind and the scores reflect it...we'll have to see how the afternoon guys do.
At some point we have to have a conversation about why Thursday & Friday tee times are done in advance
with no concern that maybe the same players get screwed twice by bad weather.
I'm pretty sure the tee times are not random. It was clear yesterday that today the afternoon guys would get the bad weather. I'm sure they have an idea of what is going to happen tomorrow.
I know it's not an easy fix but at the British Open the weather is such a huge factor.
Tiger was bitching about the greens when he got off the plane.
He never had a chance.
Daly always has some good holes at St. Andrews and he always has a few doubles too. I have barely watched any of it and probably will not until sunday morning.
It has to be pretty embarrassing that guys like O'Meara are lapping him now...one too many swing changes, injuries, whatever...I like Tiger, but I'm on record saying he never gets his mojo back.
Willett is trying to get in the house at -9 or better...something for DJ to look at...not a whole lot of low numbers posted so maybe the weather is having an effect.
Sunday morning finish is really the only good thing about the televised coverage imo...I'm following it online here at work and watching the reruns in the afternoon.
I'm pulling for Speith for the historical aspect of it, DJ for my heart. If he gags this one he will officially join my choker's list who I won't root for.
Get back in the commentator booth Sir Nick
I'll also be surprised if the Euro's don't come out and defend their turf. They've dominated the US in ryder cup events as of late and I know Rory is not playing, but still...
I'd like to see the golf fans here in America take the lead from the European fans and stop all the embarrassing "GET IN THE HOLE!!!" and the "YOU DA MAN!!!!" screaming calls at the shots of the golfers.
Nothing but applause from the British Open gallery.
