Boy you guys think the Rangers are frustrating to watch. I just came from a Rockies game. We should all be glad we're not Rockies fans
I have family up there and have been to a few games. They are one of the most underachieving organizations in baseball. And to top it off they pretty much ran Hurdle out of town and that includes the fans and he led them to the WS. Great weather for baseball though.

Congrats. You had a team handed to you. Enjoy it now before Durant leaves in FA. You won't win a title this year. Spurs, Cavs, and Warriors are all better.

Memphis is right there now too.

The west is so tough it's ridiculous. Don't see any team actually dominating, but I would certainly have the Warriors, Spurs at the top of the heap.

Not to make you feel even more frustrated, but the Rangers finished 1-15 with RISP.

Did not see the game but when I was in the car listening on the radio the bases were loaded with 0 outs and Chirinos and DeShields struck out and as always the case the guy who is able to get the ball to the OF (in this case Choo) does it for the 3rd out. I then turned the radio back off.

These are frustrating times for us, no doubt about it.

Harrison's outing went about as well as he/we could have expected. Really, I'm still surprised he forced the issue of returning to the big club when he was struggling with getting minor leaguers out. He honestly looked, at least at times, like he was throwing hard batting practice.

Not good, no matter who is doing the evaluation.

Jamey Newberg seems to think that we can get more back in trade for Gallardo than we gave up for Cliff Lee. I am not so sure about that.

Why do I get this suspicion Harry will tell management he can no longer pitch to major league players and not the other way around. It appears Bannister will give him every chance to succeed even when he doesn't. I guess that will be the equivalent to throwing in the white flag for this season.

@ChrisCotillo: Source: Neftali Feliz cleared waivers and will decide to either elect free agency or accept his outright assignment. #Rangers

CF Lewis Brinson had his third homer in the last four games. Brinson, the 29th overall pick in the 2012 draft, is hitting .410 in his last 39 at-bats.

LeDarius Clark has hit the ground running after being drafted in the 12th round this year.

Who else is glad there is no game today? This team stinks right now. All star break can't come soon enough.

I am ready to see each of those guys get a promotion. I would like to especially see what Brinson can put up in Frisco. Clark has been absolutely amazing so far. His OPS is 1.231 and he also has 12 stolen bases.

Here you go.

Martin Perez wont be activated before All-Star break | | Dallas Morning News

Left-hander Martin Perez will not be activated before the All-Star break, Banister said. Perez pitched six solid innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday in his fifth rehab start. Providing he recovers well, he is expected to throw a bullpen session for Rangers officials then start again on Sunday for Round Rock. The Rangers still intend to start Yovani Gallardo on Sunday on his normal four days’ of rest to end the first half.

Perez has until July 22 to complete his rehab assignment. He could therefore make another rehab start next week before being activated. The Rangers are at Colorado on July 22 for their sixth game of the second half.

Briefly: Double-A Frisco RHP Jake Thompson of Rockwall faced the minimum in three innings for Team USA in a pre-Pan Am games tuneup against Cuba on Tuesday. Thompson allowed one baserunner, but erased him on a double play.

Here is a little more news.

Neftali Feliz Clears Waivers - MLB Trade Rumors

Rangers righty Neftali Feliz has cleared outright waivers, SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo tweets. Feliz was designated for assignment last Friday.

The 27-year-old Feliz is playing on a $4.13MM arbitration deal this year and remains controllable for a final year in 2016. That obligation, combined with the sub-par performances that led to the DFA, likely ensured that he would not be claimed.

Because Feliz has topped five years of service at this point, after entering the year with 4.151 to his credit, he can choose to elect free agency without giving up his remaining salary. Per the report, Feliz is still deciding whether or not to take an assignment with Texas.

This from Scott Lucas.

Baseball America announced its midseason top ten Texas prospects. It's paywalled, so I'm not going to reveal it in full, but I will say that on the whole it contains no surprises save one: LHP Yohander Mendez at #10. Healthy all season (to date), Mendez doesn't throw that hard (90-91, usually) but offers good movement and placement. His changeup has become his best pitch. Money sentence: "Even with four members of the preseason Top 30 Prospects list graduating to the big leagues, the Rangers are stronger in the minors than they were when the season began thanks to steps forward for Nomar Mazara, Nick Williams, Ryan Cordell and a number of pitchers."

Texas announced its minor league award winners for June:
OF Lewis Brinson (player)
RHP Pedro Payano (pitcher). Payano is with the rookies after a spell in the Dominican Summer League.
LHP Ryne Slack (relief)
SS Michael De Leon (defense)

By the way, this is the 5 year anniversary of the Cliff Lee trade.
