Meh...I hope we keep getting invited to the kickoff games, I would much rather play somebody different every year. No offense to Mich St., but I would rather have the Wisconsin and USC neutral site games, than a home and home with you guys.

Of course I might start wanting a rematch if we start losing these one-offs.

I'm on the fence on the home and home vs. neutral site. As a fan, I love the idea of seeing a program like Alabama come to the Coliseum and then going out to Tuscaloosa to see a game there. All of the cool traditions, etc. are better on campus. The neutral site games feel more "sterile."

On the other hand, from a money for the program perspective, they make sense.

If I was in charge (which clearly I never will be) I would require that all game contracts were home-and-home. And if a team wants to move a home game to a neutral site, that is their choice (subject, of course, to the approval of their opponent.)

If you were in charge you'd likely have a clue about the difficulties of scheduling and your opinion wouldn't be so terrible.

Boo frackin' hoo. Last time I checked, most universities take pride in their abilities to solve difficult problems.

Yeah, they don't hire people like you who ignorantly make situations worse.

Well damn. I had no idea I was ignorant!

Pretty sure that's a requirement.

What AD's need are tools that make scheduling easier, not more difficult. Ways the lead to more high quality games, not things that restrict their ability to make sure things possible.

And for the purposes of ranking teams and deciding college football, what we need are more links between conferences to create quality data points.

If the NCAA is to get involved, their goals should be completely the opposite of what you suggest.

These SEC boys have an answer for every time someone calls them out on their weak OOC scheduling. Their weak scheduling has gone on so long, they've all become masters of spin...right up there with ESPN.

They play one decent FBS team as part of their OOC schedule and the other three are cupcakes. And usually the one decent FBS team is, was or anticipated to have an average year. For instance, Michigan had it's problems brewing for a while, it was no secret, Alabama anticipated Rich Rod's firing and figured they could catch the Wolverines on a downturn so they scheduled 'em.

Wisconsin same thing, Bret Beilema headed for Arkansas, Tide rushes in to schedule the Badgers, hoping to catch them on a change of system. West Virginia, same thing...coaching change.

Alabama would never have scheduled the Trojans if they knew the Trojans were going to recover so quickly from NCAA sanctions.

I hate to say this, but everybody plays cupcakes. And yes, that includes the Pac 12.

Oregon plays Eastern Washington and Georgia State this year. Both teams weren't even FBS all of 2 years ago.

Oregon State plays Weber State and San Jose State

Washington plays FCS Sacramento State and Utah State and........ Boise State

Washington State plays Portland State (FCS) and Wyoming. And supposedly a shitty Rutgers.

UCLA plays UNLV.

USC plays Arkansas State and Idaho

Arizona..., don't laugh, plays UTSA, Nevada, and UNA in their brutal OOC schedule

Arizona State plays Cal Poly (who the fuck is that?) and New Mexico

Everybody plays shit opponents to bring in the cash. Amazing how shit looks when you step back and really look at yourself from the inside....?
