You must have been brainwashed before you ever tried watching this movie. How does this film disgust you? It should have educated you on what war is about and how it effects soldiers trying to come home and assimilate back to normalcy.

I don't need political propaganda shoved down my throat. This film disgusted me. If that was the goal then well done, Mr. Eastwood.

I know my opinion is in the minority and that's ok.

I have a simple question.......what life experience do you base your opinion on? Ever looked down a barrel and pulled a trigger. Ever do anything more that sit in you chair and pound the keyboard? How about joining the marines or army and become a SEAL. See if you can pass muster for more than a week. Spend four hours treading water or jumping from a moving aircraft into the ocean. Then.........kill another human being. It ain't like TV or the movies.......Chris Kyle had more than 160 confirmed kills. Every one saved at least one other American's life. You disgust me.

Uhhh.... speaking just about the film. I was so hyped up to finally see this that I found it to be a little bit of a let down. Still very good but I think I was a little too big of a fan of Eastwood, Cooper and Kyle that there was no way it was going to live up to my expectations. Still a 7+/10 in my book though.

I do agree it was heavily hyped up @BigRedMoe but I understand why it was. The movie didn't let me down one bit, with the exception of it ending like it did... I wanted a little more into that but I get it couldn't get too much into that otherwise it would have been a 4 hour movie... But it did end with making you immediately thinking, (even if you didn't know the outcome) he aint coming back.

I agree that I HATE being preached to in a movie, in either direction.

However, one of the main feelings I had as I left the theater for this movie was that I did NOT feel preached to.

The movie is NOT "pro-war". In fact, it deals pretty strongly with the way war is fucked up and it screws with peoples heads.

The movie is not "pro-snipers". He is confidant in what he does, but he still struggles with who he has to kill and when to actually pull the trigger.

The movie is not "anti-Muslim". I have heard complaints that the other sniper is portrayed as a monster. I dont see that at all. He is just portrayed vaguely because he is not the protagonist. He is the antagonist.

The movie is, in a way, "pro-soldier". If you feel that is preachy, I dont know what to tell you. You are unable to receive of the message of the film.

It's a film based on a book about one of the most successful snipers the US military ever had, and you are pissed about it being political?

Yes, political propaganda was what his goal was. I know, big shocker.

Just for sake of argument, let's look at the scene about his first kill(s), and take it at face value (I know this scene was not in the book, and there are no reports about this scene existing in his real life, either)

Are you saying it would have been better to let the kid (and mother) deliver the bomb to their target, thus killing a small squad of US soldiers? Killing 2 in that situation is CLEARLY better than losing 6 or so US soldiers.
