Wow. So Shady was due $10M, $7M and $8M with the bonus paid several years ago so it was pay as you go going forward. Instead they are committing $21M guaranteed with virtually the same average salary to Murray.

Not a great deal financially. There is more at risk and no money saved. But at the end of the day, I guess Kelly likes Murray better. It is nice to mess with the Cowboys at the same time.

Talking Shady and Demarco is like talking night and day. They are completely different running backs. Shady was a dancer and IMO did not like to take contact and that was the reason he did not hit holes as hard. Murray is a power back and he does not mess around....he sees a hole and he hits it. I also think Murray is a better blocker than Shady.....then again most backs are better blockers than Shady

Boils down to what i said months ago...Shady huffs like a damn horse when he runs, far too many times he is tackled behind the line of scrimmage....Shady goes down when you pull his shoelace, fumbles to easy because he carries the ball like a loaf of bread....He is a "me" player....won't block...and a DE can catch him from behind....yep, Chip had enough of that Shit!

Mmm, I don't think this is too bad. Murray is 27 so he still has a few more productive years left in him. He has about 500 carries and 125 receptions less than McCoy and about the same time in the playoffs.

Overall I think it all worked out for the Eagles. The Eagles according to pro football focus are the #2 O-Line (only beaten by Dallas) so Murray should still be just as productive with Philly's group.

I originally called the whole LeSean to Mathews move a C-, but with Murray coming in gotta bump it up significantly to a B+/A- or so. Only concern is Murray has traditionally had some injuries and is coming off a 440 carry season (inc. playoffs). Wouldn't be a bad idea to try and find another back to spell him some kind of like Seattle does with Lynch.

Wonder if BUF regrets that trade right now, they could have had Murray over Shady for similar money, if they could convince him to sign there.
