Offensive line (save for Trent Williams), a Safety, and Nose Tackle for sure. And possibly a Quarterback?

legitmate pass-rushing olb or two
fresh blood at cornerback
Possible successor at TE for Heath
NT (but it has to be a true zero tech if we're keeping out regular base looks post-Lebeau

This... CB & OLB are the biggest needs. Add in FS/SS & OT

Safety... Polamalu should (probably will) retire this offseason. Shamarko Thomas could be the successor but thats a big question mark. Will Allen & Robert Golden are FA's. I'd like to see them give Thomas a shot. They traded up for him in '13, and all he has amounted to thus far is a Special Teams ace. Coaches don't seem overly confident on him. Regardless they need depth here if they don't resign some of the vets.

OT... I would like to see them grab a solid prospect so they can eventually move Beachum inside to LG when Ramon Foster leaves (contract expires after '15). I say "leaves" in hopes that they don't resign him since he'll be 33 in 2016. He's been a noticeable weakness on that line for some time already. They could grab an OG if they feel confident keeping Beachum on the outside long term. Mike Adams showed some growth last season, but still shaky at best. Gilbert is pretty average, meaning Beachum is arguably the best OT they have. Cody Wallace is a great insurance policy, and is signed through '16. He could definitely start at LG if they don't find a replacement for Foster. It helps to have Munchak as the O-line coach!

OL, WR, W-ILBotf, and FS.

The offense is pretty barren when it comes to OL and WR's outside of a grossly overpaid #2 in Dwayne Bowe who may just be cut even with nobody but a giant question mark in Albert Wilson. There really needs to be a talent infusion on offense with a bottom 5 OL and the worst WR's in the NFL- there's no doubt about it. De'Anthony Thomas may possibly see more of a pass catching role next year, but if anyone thinks he is the solution, well, I got a bridge to sell you. It's not quite the Jamaal Charles show anymore with an up and coming TE in Travis Kelce who really made some noise, but you can only stretch the field horizontally so much in today's NFL- and the OL and WR's are not going to allow much to develop after a short passing game as it stands right now- regardless of the QB or coach.

Granted, Reid's WCO's have generally been biased towards the short game, especially so in the McNabb years, but the ability to go downfield was pretty sapped by the a porous OL and terrible WR's.

Reid worked some real devil magic squeezing out the 12th best offense in terms of points per drive, and a very low turnover rate to boot. One of his better coaching jobs, and I would like to see what Reid and Smith could produce with something resembling competence on the OL and WR's.

To be specific, I would like an excellent route runner with bigtime YAC ability, Justin Hardy comes to mind for me. Lockett and Devin Smith are also guys I would like to see picked after the 1st round. To be specific about the OL, besides the Rodney Hudson (C) FA issue, there are holes at LT, LG, and RT. Eric Fisher has yet to have an offseason where he is able to build up some upper muscle to get into the 325 lbs range instead of the 300 range, so I'll be fine letting him have another year to get it together with his intriguing athleticism. Left Guard needs a makeover, Jeff Allen is coming back from injury, but mediocre over god-awful isn't inspiring really at left guard. RT was also poor, and is in need of a book end to secure the right side of the O-line with Hudson, Fulton, and a RT replacement. There is Donald Stephenson, but the fact he couldn't win his job back from Ryan Harris after a PED suspension is a red flag his prior success was due to PED's, not his actual talent, and it looked like that when he was on the field in 2014.

KC plays a whole crap ton of nickel, so the burden of the ILB's is rather immense; and they failed fantastically this year- allowing a 4.7 YPC mark on the ground. Granted, Derrick Johnson went down with an Achilles, and Mays broke his hand, so the doomsday scenario hit this position since there is little depth there. However, Derrick Johnson, as good as he is, is man over 30 who just blew out his Achilles, his replacement will need to be found soon. Erik Kendricks looks like a guy with the range and instincts to handle the job going forward- and if he is there at 18, don't be surprised to see him picked.

With the latest news of Ron Parker demanding a 5 year 6M AAV contract and KC's cap issues surrounding Justin Houston and Rodney Hudson primarily, it would dubious to retain Parker. That leaves a hole at FS.

not to mention the fact that even IF Derrick Johnson does come back from his injury he certainly AIN'T getting any younger. Houston will DEFINITELY be a priority to re-sign, and Ron Paker can go play in fast traffic...

as for WR, i personally would like to get someone who has reliable hands and can stretch the field. Bowe dropping passes is a REAL tired act...

Hard to say until we find out who stays or goes with FA.

That being said, I think CB Maxwell and OG Carpenter are going to take huge contracts elsewhere. So CB and OG are a need. We need better WO depth. We also need help at DT. Mebane is starting to show some age.

The Seahawks have a great nucleus that are signed through 15 so it's just a matter of adding some depth at CB, OL, and WR.

Guess SB win last year and another appearance this year just doesn't cut it. Glad your keeping Wilson after that throw

The bears need defensive playmakers. They need CBs, Safeties, Linebackers, DEs, DTs, a young RB, QB, and Oline help. The bears need basically everything but WRs, K, and P.

Yeah. Carroll and Bevell have been terrible together. Best record over the past 3 seasons. 2 Super Bowl appearances.

But since some fans who don't understand football hated the play that resulted in an interception, they must be incompetent and should be fired.

Yeah, as much as I like DJ, that Achilles is kind of a scary thing to deal with. Suggs and Wilfork have come back ok, but that is far from a guarantee that DJ will at this point. I would be pretty surprised if ILB isn't taken fairly early. Erik Kendricks seems like a safe pick to me, despite his size, with his range and instincts to shoot gaps.

Past Butkus award winners (Thanks to Pelletman)
2014 – Eric Kendricks, UCLA*
2013 – C.J. Mosley, University of Alabama
2012 – Manti Te’o, University of Notre Dame
2011 – Luke Kuechly, Boston College
2010 – Von Miller, Texas A&M
2009 – Rolando McClain, Alabama
2008 – Aaron Curry, Wake Forest
2007 – James Laurinaitis, Ohio State University
2006 – Patrick Willis, Mississippi
2005 – Paul Posluszny, Penn State
2004 – Derrick Johnson, Texas

A lot of pretty solid names. Even Rolando McClain has salvaged himself rather recently. Historically, the Butkus guys have been pretty safe picks with a few real stars in there as well- but there is Aaron Curry who stands out like a pretty sore thumb.

The trick with the WR's I think is finding someone who can stretch, catch, and run clean routes in the Reid WCO. Bowe really is just... big- but not THAT big either. Should be interesting to see who is grabbed since we are a bit strapped for cash in FA. Coates, Hardy, Lockett, and Dorsett top my wishlist. That DGB is absurdly talented though, so it's awfully to pick him fairly early, however.

At FS, I am not sure what we're going to do there, but I'd be pretty interested in Rowe out of Utah if he is in the midrounds. I think he would be a really solid Safety with some time in our defense.
