No - I questioned whether you ever attended 'Bama or if you were a fan. For some reason you were offended by the inquiry. Not sure where you saw SEC bashing in this thread. When you showed your true colors, after pretending not to be an ass, then it was you who got bashed.

So you really don't know that asking that is usually done as a way of insulting other college fans?

As for getting bash, that's simply a matter of numbers based on the forum I'm posting in. Not exactly shocking.

This was not a SEV vs Big 12 post...my point was the selection committee has not really fixed anything since they are counting one week of play over a whole body of work...was the fact the Bama only played two teams over .500 in conf play(those teams having 3 or 4 built in wins OOC) and a win over Missouri really that more impressive than TCUs body of work...we won't even throw in the fact TCU crushed the team that beat Bama.

So...this post is considered bashing by team SEC? What a joke!

For anyone to construe the point of the post as a slam on the SEC says a ton about their intelligence.

Grow a fucking set....

Post #14 - you mean the one where he said it wasn't about Big12 vs SEC and then proceeded to talk about how TCU beat a team that beat Alabama and generally cried in a Big12 vs SEC manner while blaming the college football playoff committee for what he thought was a wrong?

Nope. It was somebody who expressed that he felt that the Committee needs to improve their system. TCU and 'Bama were used to make his point. Since 'Bama was used, it becomes a SEC bash?

I asked if you wanted me to leave because trolling other teams forums is not allowed and my intention wasn't to cause problems.

But as time went on, you exhibited troll-like behavior. Even you have to admit that. It is one thing to post passionately about your team, even your conference, or whatever, but when you start that "mightier than thou" stuff, then the replies on this board will change. This board enjoys a spirited debate and welcome good discussions. These guys on here do not care if a troll arrives because we have experienced it on other websites. Some on here find it amusing having a discussion with a troll. I can tell you this, I for one find you to be very troll-like and will probably get bashed more often than not, especially when you call us 8th graders.

But if you aren't/weren't dissing the SEC, why would I need thicker skin?

You were told to have thicker skin because of your statement of 'If I'm not wanted here....yadda yadda yadda....' Nobody said for you to leave, but told you to man up. Instead you start up with your infamous 'I've come here to teach you something' or 'You guys are all dillusional'. Yet you keep coming back because "you kind of like" West Virginia. Almost like using the term 'With all due respect,...' in my opinion.

Not at all. Seek to understand, then to be understood. One of the most prolific quotes in the Bible when it comes to understanding somebody you do not know. Also, one of the ruling principals for 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. You were willing to discuss the fact that your Father, or Grandfather, was a 'Bama fan and your kids will probably be 'Bama fans. If you felt that I was attempting to insult you, why offer this additional information? Never heard that asking if you were a grad of that school or a fan of that school as being a dis. I know plenty of people who are fans of a college sport who did not attend that school. Same holds true for Pro teams.

As for bashing, it doesn't take numbers to get bashed.

Read post #14 of this thread. Your question is answered by the originator of the thread. Never was a 'dis' at all. Why do you take it this way? Because it was about the SEC? Aren't you the one who uses terms like "butthurt"? Amazing how the chickens come back to roost.

Thinking about it, didn't you get all huffy and puffy because you were challenged on some of your post and said that "I will leave if I'm not wanted"? If memory serves me, I think that nobody asked you to leave but rather said to get thicker skin. I see that hasn't taken place. I find it funny that you can call me a homer but you come back to defend something that wasn't even implied at the start of the thread. Sorry that you can't see your homerism and true colors. Remember, it was you by your own admission that you came on here to "educate" us? Very condesenting and pompous on your part. You came to us, we didn't seek you.....but you still come back.

It was indeed a lame attempt to belittle the SECs OOC schedule, and when post # 11 pointed out how weak the B12 teams OOC is DC came with # 14 trying to back out of his original statement.

Still do not agree. The way I see it, and already stated, is DC felt that the Committee is still not perfect in their formula. The SEC has the model for scheduling, as GR reinterated. The SEC posters felt that DC was attacking the SEC. WestEndVols posted the schedule for the Big 12, which is not strong, but neither is the SECs. The reference to the CCG is one of the criterias that the Committee said that can be used to determine admittance to the Big Dance. Hence my comment that their schedules are almost the same and asked who had the toughest schedule. Then the sensitivity of anybody posting or discussing a SEC team or the conference started up.

You, of course, who has an agenda of attempting to discredit ANYTHING posted by BB, DC, Slaton, or me; tries to add fuel to a little smoke hoping to create a big fire. After all, you said that these boards are nothing but opinions. If I have to explain posts to you and your new friend, 4down20, then 2015 will be interesting. Read the post for content and without maliciousness in you hearts. I'd hate to have to spell everything out with each post.beverybody needs to put on their big boy pants.

It's against the forum rules to troll the forums of other teams. Again, that is why I ask if I was wanted here or not. I would get banned if not wanted.

And as for "mightier than thou" - You were talking about a topic I have spent years studying. I ran my own computer rankings for 6 years and in that process I studied many different concepts about how and why teams are ranked the way they are, and what factors go into it. I do in fact probably know more about the topic than you do and it's likely not even close. But instead of wanting to look at actual things as such, all you want to do is sit around crying about SEC bias.

How about I start talking about things you do for a living and pretend like you are stupid and don't know what you are talking about? What response would you have?

 I 100% do not at all believe you didn't know it was a popular insult. Especially when you for some reason mention it in the middle of a debate out of no where when it had nothing to do with the topic.

Who counts as "real" fans vs "t-shirt" fans? : CFB

ABSOLUTELY! Since I'm part of the quartet, wouldn't I know what he meant? In all reality, not sure what you are implying, as usual. You are one person as well, but you know better? As usual, you are right.

Most on this board will not report a suspected troll to the Admin, so you don't have to worry about that. Most find it fun engaging with them. The last person I remember reporting somebody to the Admins was your buddy, WVPoppy.

And as for "mightier than thou" - You were talking about a topic I have spent years studying. But instead of wanting to look at actual things as such, all you want to do is sit around crying about SEC bias.

And you come here thinking nobody can match your 6 years of doing rankings. You also said that you haven't done it for some time. Everybody has something that they are or consider theirself to be the "expert". Maybe some would appreciate your knowledge but your approach to this was all wrong. Not sure how you can say your opinion is any more valid than somebody else's, but you lost that opportunity, at least with me. Nobody is crying about SEC bias, this thread was about copying their model, before it got hijacked. Why would you even care what other thought of the SEC?

How about I start talking about things you do for a living and pretend like you are stupid and don't know what you are talking about? What response would you have?

I would care less. It is up to you to decide whether you believe what somebody has to say. My approach would certainly be different than yours. You lost everybody from the jump, except for Poppy, and your defense mechanism gave you the 'mightier than thou' perception. By then, you lost you audience. You may know everything about the subject, but were not thick skinned enough to get a valid point across. Then you come back on this thread and call everybody 8th graders. Easier to catch bees with honey....especially when you are away from home. How would you feel if I came to your house and belittled you and your family?

That is fine that you do not believe me. Not sure why it would be important for me to lie about it, but whatever. If you found it so offensive, why did you reply with personal information? You seem to be aware of all these different forms of insults but cannot admit that you were insulting to a group of posters of a board whose team you happened to like.

Just glanced through the article you provided. Are you serious? This was a post of a guy having a discussion with his boss over being a fan because you went that school or because you have some affinity to that team. So if somebody posts a discussion such as this, it constitutes some type of protocol? You're kidding, right?

4down is just carrying his insecurity about his allegiance to Bama to our board. It is quite common to call out fans on the main College football board of this site...just as it was at CBS...real fans vs t-shirt fans.

Since it is part of the process, I'm sure he gets defensive about it, and assumed mad was deploying similar tactic.

4down is a master of message board argument.

Mad...like you and I have told him, he doesn't have to worry about us reporting him for troll like behavior. DAD is the only one who has ever done that on this site. Just grow a set, and don't cry like DAD when you get taken to task.

None of you could. And this past year was the first year I didn't do them because the data is no longer free. What I posted wasn't just opinion.

You guys cry about SEC bias constantly. When you only talked about WVU football there was no problem. Then you started crying about the SEC and because I dared to defend it you guys went off.

How many examples are you required before you will accept that it's a common insult?

So what you called a job is actually a hobby, but when it started to cost money, the hobby was dropped. Big difference between a job and a hobby and now, you have neither one. No different than me, or others on this board, reading material and forming an opinion. I could probably train a German Shepard in a month to do what it's taken you 6 years to "master". Hell, a damn groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter and he is probably correct.

Don't act like 8th graders.

Is this the best you got? I'll play your little game. If I acted like an 8th grader, you still wouldn't understand because you're not smarter than a 5th grader. See how fun this is? I thought trolls were smarter than this.

Go ahead and take it as an insult then. If this is one of your standards, then you definitely need to grow a pair. Look, to make you happy, I believe you. Now you can stop holding your breath and pouting, poor Lil Buddy. I guess I violated some other stupid code that you live your life by.

Didn't know about this fan vs shirts bull. If he wants to live his life by that code, more power to him. It's funny he calls me out on this but he still relayed information about his hobby and family. Guess he wasn't all too mad, but chooses to be mad now. He is a funny dude. I see a lot of similarities between him and Poppy. Could they be related?

By profession I am a programmer. The topic in this case was a hobby. I also write ranking formulas for programs related to real estate and cars. What you do in all these cases is study what matters and what doesn't and then apply that logic(not opinion) with an algorithm.

So, it's a hobby in the same way an autobody expert might restore an old car for themselves to drive.

Where such rankings come up short is not a matter of opinion, but the inability to take some factors into account. Teams that improve over the year, teams that go down due to injury, etc.

And it was good enough to predict the winners of game 75% of the time with the exception of 1 week(bowl season of 2013 was the only sub 50% picks I ever had, which was a year of many many upsets).

Is this the best you got? I'll play your little game. If I acted like an 8th grader, you still wouldn't understand because you're not smarter than a 5th grader. See how fun this is? I thought trolls were smarter than this.
You think a troll is anyone who disagrees with you and that says a good bit in itself.
