Cavs fans getting excited over a home win vs Utah.
While we just beat the lakers clippers and blew out the bulls so...
It's no coincidence that when James plays that you have a much greater chance to win.
You guys act like it is because of the other additions.
While the center definitely was needed, without James, he's not making a difference against quality teams.
If/when James misses more games, you will see exactly that.
So, bottom line, as it was before any of the moves, the team will only go as far as James can carry them.
As far as the recent win streak, I'm not going to totally discredit the improvement, but the Lakers and Jazz are horrible. The Clippers and Bulls are very good teams, but you have to admit that neither is playing that great at the moment.
Its just really strange to me how a lot of people (not just posters on here, also national analysts and commentators) were making blanket statements about the Cavs and their chances this year based on how they played for 2 weeks without their best player. (To say nothing of losing their starting center for a year and making 2 significant trades).
If it was Harden, or Curry, or Durant (it was), or Davis, or Griffin... people would be prefacing every negative comment about their team with "but their best player is out and will be back soon so it doesn't mean much".
I heard a national radio guy yesterday saying something along the lines of "Yeah the Cavs are winning a few games now... but they go on streaks... they won a bunch in a row... then they lost 9 out of 10... now they're winning again... can you really trust them?" Zero mention of the fact that LeBron missed 9 of those 10 games. Its baffling to me. It really is.
I am confident the Cavs will get the last laugh though. They are playing way better than they even did during their big winning streak.
They are finally sharing and moving the ball the best they have all year, playing the best defense they have all year-
Love looks to finally getting comfortable. Blatt looks like he is beginning to adapt to the NBA. LEBron is finally totally healthy...
Jr Smith looks totally re-energized to be on a good team with a bunch of talent. Mozgov had another great game tonight. Shumpert hasn't even got on the court yet!
The Cavs appear healthy- and because of Griffins moves have some really nice depth...those guys that were playing significant minutes during that losing streak- many wont even touch the floor- and the other ones will get back to minutes that they are most effective in.
How many times have some of you (Cavs fans) said you don't expect a title this season?
I've always said title or BUST, and have also said that the 1st important game the Cavs will play is in round 2 of the playoffs, correct?
Anyway, of course we know that injuries matter.
The difference is that most people don't care if the Thunder or any of the other 28 teams lose.
It's just way more fun when it's the Cavs.
As far as the roster... YES, with Andy out, of course even a moderate 7 footer is going to help...
However to even imply that as of right now they have some type of deep/good bench is beyond a stretch.
Look at the box scores from the last few games since James is back.
I understand that Shumpert will soon be back, and I do like him, but if you are really banking on J.R. Smith on a nightly basis, then IMO you are in deep trouble.
I think everyone in reality should all just settle down until after the trade deadline passes and see where things stand at that point.
Russ, I think I just figured out why Kyrie is still shooting so much.
Now that the fans have realized Curry>Lillard>Wall> Irving as evidenced by All Star voting, Kyrie will have to result to " Hero Ball " on crack mode to earn NBA MVP honors to get that bonus
Had Irving made the cut, he stood to earn an extra $7-$10 million because of a rule in the current collective bargaining agreement commonly called the "Derrick Rose" provision. The CBA as it relates to player salaries is often complicated, but, the five-year, $90 million contract extension Irving signed with the Cavaliers last summer made him eligible for an even higher earning rate if he were to meet certain criteria. Irving's two chances for the higher rate -- which would be based on next year's salary cap, which has not yet been set -- were to either earn fan votes into the All-Star Game this season or win the league's Most Valuable Player award, which is highly unlikely. Cavs absoloutly blowing out the bobcats
The east is between the cavs and the bulls in my opinion. I think that the cavs are going to go through streaks and have, they have struggled with and without james. However, it doesn't matter a whole lot how they are playing now, it matters how they are playing at the end of the year.
dude please tell me you are watching this
it is positively unbelievable....a full sportscenter could be Cavs first half highlights.....
the healthy and playing with confidence and look like the team everyone thought they could be. When they play like this its hard to figure they could be beaten 4 times in a week and a half.....
Dude, it's like the Clippers vs. Nets all over again.
Lets hope KLove doesn't get bored and decide to Teabag the Athletic Trainer while the cameras rolling.
