Thinking about it lee, klay, Barnes and a first is WAY to much

Toss up really IMO. David lee is injured like he often is. Barnes 8 points a game. a 1st round pick is still late 20s at best. Klay Thompson even though improved isn't worth it straight up for love

If the rumor is true, then I don't think it all has to do with the Cleveland situation, I just think he always considered the Lakers.
Maybe he signs with the Clippers.

"LA? Nawww, I prefer Cleveland but thank you anyway." - what no one says

Yeah just ignore the fact that LeBron is from NE Ohio & the Lakers are a total mess right now.

They have Blake at PF. Would you have Love coming off the bench or replacing Jordan as the Center? That would leave basically zero defense in the paint.

The Lakers can change their roster, the Cavs will still be in Cleveland.

Seriously though, I won't be surprised if Love opts out, that's just the smart business decision. I will be surprised if he leaves the Cavs though. If he does leave, it means that he, Lebron and Kyrie didn't get things worked out and I think they will.

Cavs fans should get used to these kinds of rumors, especially if they continue to struggle and/or get bounced from the playoffs before the ECF.

LOL.

Seriously, I think that the Lakers don't have anyone signed long-term. They are THE marquee franchise of the league and will continue to be the hottest destination for every free agent out there. Even the albatross Kobe will retire sooner rather than later, allowing them to pursue better players who won’t take 40% of the cap.

NBA rumors are idiotic. Love isn't leaving Cleveland to go to lose 50+ games a year in LA.

This rumor has about as much legs as all those Pau Gasol trade rumors from the last couple of years where LA gets back this great packages back for him. That wasn't realistic and neither is this.

There will be 20 more "LA is getting <insert NBA superstar>" over the next 8 months but 1 year from now LA is still going to suck as they are only going to be able to attract mid-level talent that they grossly overpay until they able form a real roster.

LA was screwed the moment the new CBA came into being that didn't allow them to spend twice what every other team was spending with minimal penalties.

Yeah, word from the FO has been that the Lakers knew that under the new cba, this time was coming. They brought in Dwight and Nash to try and get past it without having to go through too much of a true re-build. When Dwight left, that moved them to plan B, which is sign guys to 1 year deals, re-sign the ones that perform while getting rid of the rest and preserving as much cap space as possible.

Meanwhile, Kobe puts asses in seats, so they can still attract fans to games. There will be those who watch to see him chase records, those who watch hoping he fails and those who watch because his career is winding down and they want to see one of the greats one last time.

Or when the league blocked Chris Paul from going there because....wait why did they block that trade again?

How many NBA players consider consulting a tax lawyer BEFORE choosing a team/State to go play for/in?

Not many. When you get to the level that these guys are getting paid at, taxes aren't going to affect your lifestyle much. Plus, the smart one's have people handling their money that get them set up with tax shelters, etc.

You're right about rumors, but wrong about pretty much everything else. Yes, there will be plenty of rumors and every decent FA for the next 2-3 years will be rumored to be coming to the Lakers. However, the fact is that it is more likely than not, that 2 or 3 top FA's will come to the Lakers over the next couple of seasons. They are still in L.A. after all.
