Imagine that. A Husky fan telling the board that Stanford, Ohio St , Miami, FL, Oregon, Michigan St, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina aren't "worth a damn".

Notre Dame is a mid-major

And that Virginia, California, Wake Forest, Purdue, Syracuse, Kansas, Northwestern, Arkansas, Washington St, Arizona, Mississippi St, and Illinois are only considered quality opponents when P5 teams beat them.

You seem to just want to argue. I never said Notre Dame was a mid major. I asked if they were technically, and then questioned the exception.

Never said those teams (Stanford, Ohio St , Miami, FL, Oregon, Michigan St, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina aren't "worth a damn) werent worth a damn, at least that wasnt my intent.

Here, I'll say something now that even you cant misconstrue. None of those teams have a realistic shot at the playoff. Not even BYU, though they would have the best odds.

I'll let you play in your sandbox now.

:L at the whole idea of it.

Just so we get this clear.

Are you saying a mid-major will NEVER have a shot at the Play-Off.

Not this year or any year going forward?

I can think of one rea$on that Notre Dame i$ con$idered to be in the $ame group a$ the "power five", but I don't want to $ay what it i$.

Well, not the current 4 team format. Thats correct.

Playoff expansion changes things.

Get back to me when more than 4 teams are eligible and a p5 conference champ with a better SOS than any mid-major is automatically excluded by default.

See ya then.

I'm not bashing ND with my questions. I love the history of the program.

I just wish theyd join a conference so everytime something comes around we don't have to make exceptions for them.

Isn't Notre Dame technically a mid-major?

Ironbreaker;None of those teams play a schedule worth a damn other than BYU

I don't think Ironbreaker could figure that out either.

All he was asking was if they count as midmajor because they arent in a power 5 conference...

I see what he did there...

wow. I've been pretty patient with all your slights in this thread.

I could easily shred you. But I won't.

Have a good day.

As good a day as a bitter little person can have anyway...

Notre Dame is (8-0) all-time against Washington. Yet are considered by them to be a mid-major.

Go away Huskie :L

Well if you give the question any credibility then you are a dumb-ass too.

Woulda been a lot easier to say 'no' than spend 20 posts callin him a dumbass :)

I gave him every chance NOT to be a dumbass. He kept digging a deeper hole.

Hence, a dumbass.

I laughed at your joke...

Either way, I think the Doomers are good for about 4-5 losses once they get to some good teams on their sched. Clearly not next week.

There are 4 or 5 teams that can give ND a good game remaining on their schedule. That said I don't think they will lose all of them. Stanford, USC, Arizona St and Florida State are real good teams. Louisville can't be overlooked either.

With Purdue and Syracuse remaining this month, ND should enter October undefeated.

Because they've always played a decent slate of P5 schools and fared good against them.

This season

Michigan (W)
Purdue
Syracuse
Stanford
North Carolina
Florida St
Arizona St
Northwestern
Louisville
Southern Cal

Does that look like a mid-major conference schedule to you?

Before you tell me how bad some of those teams are, think about how much of a fool you'll look.

Almost no one has a schedule that tough. 11-1 is worth a playoff spot.

lol...

I'm serious man. Read the old BCS bowl qualification rules and such. Note all the exceptions for ND. I just read the mid major definition, exception ND.

I guarantee going forward as the playoffs progress and grow there will be exceptions for ND.

Why the catering? Join a conference.

And sorry RA, not trying to hijack this thread. My initial query was sincere.

I wont talk about them anymore after this post.

I just dont get it. But this isn't the place. :suds:

What conference would ND have a tougher schedule? Stanford, USC, Stanford, Florida State, Louisville. This is a big time schedule and no FCS teams on the schedule.

If BYU stays undefeated and handles Virginia and Cal by double digits, they'll have a shot.

UCF, Nevada, and Boise St will add to their resume.

BYU does not have a tough schedule. They could go undefeated.
