First off, the league should really revamp its stance on weed use. Gordon is one of the top receivers in the league so obviously you can be productive while using the stuff recreationally.

But with that being said, its fucking stupid to smoke ANYTHING. And unfathomably stupid to drive while impaired. You risk your life as well as those around you. The NFL should drop the hammer on him for that reason alone.

I wonder if teams put no smoking clauses in players contracts...

So when players use in the states that it is still illegal the NFL should just shrug & say well it is ok?
The NFL bans many things that aren't illegal, so the fact it isn't illegal in places anymore really has no bearing.

Yes, they should. There's evidence that it is good for the brain's ability to handle impact, and refusing that is practically criminal.

I am not arguing whether it should be legal everywhere. (I don't see the harm) but if I am not mistaken it is still federally illegal, & I cant see the NFL going against that.
Until it is legal everywhere, why would the NFL address it differently?
Better yet. How could they?

There is some research to indicate it may decrease head trauma from impact. That's a reason in its own right.

Regardless, lol at Gordon. He was overrated on the field and clearly a huge retard off of it.

How was he overrated on the field?? He had shitty QB's throwing to him, no weapons around him other than Cameron.

I think you are confused, it is called UNDERRATED.

How could they? You simply don't punish a positive test.

Why should they? I already told you. There is evidence it helps prevent head trauma and the NFL is facing extreme outlash over concussion safety. Punishing players for something with no performance benefits, no health risks, and studies that indicate it likely helps prevent concussions is not acceptable policy for an organization under fire for concussions.

you are the most tunnel visioned poster I have ever posted with. I understand that you have an opinion & therefore anything that differs from your point of view is wrong. Witnessed your posts all over the different forums. Always the same.

It is still federally illegal. Therefore it is still an illegal drug. The NFL doesn't work in just one state. (nor do they make laws)

Please don't even bother responding. No need.

Have to agree with Schmoopy1000 here. Yes it might be beneficial towards players with certain conditions and such but the NFL has their hands tied. They are a world wide company with employees all over the United States and even elsewhere. Just talking players what are those in states that haven't legalized it supposed to do? At best they could get a prescription for it I guess but the stuff that most of these players want is not what you find in the hospital. These guys are wanting to get high not get the medical grade without THC stuff that is just for pain. Again it comes down to they legally cannot do it right now so why even consider it? I guess you could allow the Bronco players and Seahawks players to use it while home but I bet you would have a ton of players then wanting to sign with those teams for cheap if that were the case. I guess that is ok by me.

I am thinking maybe they should force all the players to smoke up if that is the case considering how huge a lawsuit they are facing with the concussions. Just have to get them all medical cards.:noidea:

It isn't their job to enforce federal law. They have no obligation to do so. Being federally illegal has literally no relevance.

So - following your logic, you support not testing for PED's... No?

PEDs are against NFL rules for competitive reasons, not because they're illegal.

Yet - administered properly and by qualified medical personnel, PED's are beneficial in treating injuries.

They provide a competitive advantage. That is why they are illegal.

Marijuana is tantamount to alcohol except that it may have preventive qualities against head trauma.

"May have" doesn't carry much weight for me. Quantitative data is needed.

Regardless... It's banned, it's punishable, the player knows this when they sign their contract. Just as when I went into the Air Force - I knew that if I failed a drug test I was out.

Rules are rules. That's just the way it is.

Oh - BTW - I support legalization of pot. Stupid law.

There is research which supports the claim. It is not conclusive yet, but when there are no downside there is no reason to punish use of a potential remedy for such a severe issue.

I know it's banned, and players who are stupid enough to piss dirty have no one to blame but themselves. He asked why it shouldn't be, and I told him.

Well you know the saying... You can take a person out if the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of a person.

And before anyone tries the race card, I'm African American. I see this all the time in my community, and this punk is no different than many others.

Just pathetic.

You are racist there are whites in ghettos too j/k

For all the talk of pot, he was pulled over for speeding and blew an .09. That's over the limit. That's why he was arrested. Sounds like he's a multi substance abuser.
