Definitely, a promotion would mean more money lol. But when you get caught doing it the first time you are less likely to do it agaon, although wome push their luck, like Gordon.

Yep - a lot of the problems stem from the feeling of being invincible & having this attitude made even worse by hangers-on constantly feeding your ego. Unfortunately - it most likely takes several bad incidents to provide a reality check.

Repoport is reporting that he'll in fact appeal and contend the ole "second-hand smoke" standby.

LOL @ JOSH GORDON'S LEGAL TEAM

Josh Gordon's legal team to say second-hand smoke reason for positive marijuana test - ESPN

The legal team for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will argue in a hearing Friday that its client has disputed test results that were caused from secondhand marijuana smoke, according to sources.

Gordon is appealing the NFL's imposition of a yearlong suspension for a positive test for marijuana.

Gordon's legal team will argue that the positive tests are so marginal that they show uncertainty as to whether the test results were truly positive, and even if so, were the result of exposure to secondhand smoke, according to sources familiar with the case.

Gordon's "A" sample tested at 16 nanograms per milliliter, a bare one nanogram per milliliter above the 15-nanogram-per-milliliter threshold, while Gordon's "B" sample -- which should theoretically be consistent with the "A" sample, as it comes from the exact same specimen -- tested at 13.63 ng/ml, lower than the threshold.

Instead of blaming others, he should recognize his own problems and work on fixing them.

Even more proof this guy just doesn't get it. He's probably never going to get it until he's broke or in prison. And even then he might not.

This guy is quickly becoming one of the all-time numbskulls of the NFL. He's joining an elite group with names like Titus Young, Daryl Washington, Von Miller, Aldon Smith & so on.

NFL warns Josh Gordon's defense

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon's claim that secondhand smoke led to his failed marijuana test this offseason might not help him.

"A cornerstone of both of our drug testing programs has always been that you are responsible for what is in your body," Greg Aiello, NFL senior vice president of communications, said via email Tuesday. "It is stated that way in the policies."

Sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Gordon will attribute his one positive sample to secondhand smoke, and that he also will argue a disparity in the two samples he provided.

No player has won an appeal based on secondhand smoke.

In addition, several other players have been suspended for "not being responsible for what is in your body," as Aiello described.

Gordon himself is one example. A year ago, he said he tested positive for codeine in his prescribed cough medicine. Codeine is a banned substance, and he was suspended because he was responsible for knowing what he was taking. The four-game suspension was negotiated to a two-game ban and four games without pay.

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis was suspended four games for using what he said was a fertility drug banned by the NFL because it increases testosterone levels.

Adolpho Birch, the NFL Vice President of Labor Policy and Government Affairs, has said often that players can reach out to the league before taking any drug to ensure it does not contain a banned substance. Once a positive test comes back for substance-abuse drugs, the league follows rules agreed to in the collective bargaining agreement.

Gordon has hired high-powered attorney Maurice Suh to represent him at Friday's appeal, which will be in New York.

second hand smoke is a childish excuse. If you aren't doing it, go away from whomever is or tell them to leave. Your NFL future is on the line.

didn't they say that SFs Kaep was doing weed when that girl went to the hospital ? wheres his penalty ?

This is the first I've ever heard that accusation. He hasn't been charged with possession & hasn't failed a drug test, so I don't know where you're getting that.
