Has a chance to be a multi-millionaire and can't stop this addiction. I thought it was just weed, but it has to be something more serious. He needs help.

Well you know the saying... You can take a person out if the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of a person.

And before anyone tries the race card, I'm African American. I see this all the time in my community, and this punk is no different than many others.

Just pathetic.

What's shocking is that he's not the only one.

I posted a thread on a WR for the Colts that was suspended last year, and will be suspended this entire coming season for drug use.

What the hell is wrong with kids coming into the league today?

It could be DWI Drugs or DWI Alcohol. Either way, unreal. During the midst of an appeal to see if you will get to play football again this entire year you get picked up for DWI.

Dude needs to spend the next year in rehab for a while, doing community service work, going to high schools and talking to kids about consequences of one's actions - and then go beg for a chance to play in the NFL again next year.

Here's the thing....we're not talking about some rookie FA scrub that walked onto the team and his best hope is to make the taxi squad. We're talking about one of the best WR's of all of last year.

Dude had 1,600 yards catching balls from men who can barely call themselves QB's in Cleveland.

If he plays his cards right and stayed off the pot, he'd be in for a SICK payday when he's out of his first contract.

But now, IF he lasts that long in the league, teams are going to wonder if he can stay off the budda and that's going to hurt his market price.

First off, the league should really revamp its stance on weed use. Gordon is one of the top receivers in the league so obviously you can be productive while using the stuff recreationally.

But with that being said, its fucking stupid to smoke ANYTHING. And unfathomably stupid to drive while impaired. You risk your life as well as those around you. The NFL should drop the hammer on him for that reason alone.

I wonder if teams put no smoking clauses in players contracts...

Josh Gordon.. c'mon man.

Feel like Cleveland NEVER catches a break. Finally get a stud wideout on a team that desperately needed one and this happens lol.

No, the league doesn't have to alter it's stance on anything. Just because pot is legal in a few states doesn't mean the NFL needs to change.

I don't know that the NFL has to put no smoking clauses into contracts. Weed already against the rules so if you pop positive you're punished. You can smoke regular cigarettes but why would you? That's going to hurt how you play. There's a reason not to many players smoke.

In the last two seasons (only 14 games last year), he was 3rd ALL-TIME in a span that long for receiving yards. He was behind Rice and another great. So given his age and he is still young, he could be great, like an all-time great.

And of course this happens to the Browns, fucking of course!

They don't "have to" but they should. Weed has medicinal benefits which could actually help players. Why not treat weed like tobacco? IMO, players shouldn't be inhaling any of that into their lungs but if they want to then who gives a shit?

As a Steelers fan, I'll take him being suspended all year.

You're right, this kid could have had a bright, bright career.

Exactly. NFL can ban or prohibit use of whatever they want if you're agreeing to their terms. If I start a company and require new employees to sign a contract stating, "I will not drink alcohol and submit to a urine test every day." then that's my doing.

Do I think weed should be allowed in the NFL? Yes, alcohol is more addictive and scientifically proven to be worse for you when used routinely but it's allowed. That said, still the NFLs place to decide that.

There is some research to indicate it may decrease head trauma from impact. That's a reason in its own right.

Regardless, lol at Gordon. He was overrated on the field and clearly a huge retard off of it.

If you have an antitrust exemption you don't have the same ability to do whatever you want as a normal company, so your comparison isn't great.

With this and his history, it's apparent to anyone with half a brain he has a serious substance abuse problem. He needs to be directed to a facility for clinical help ASAP
