Oilers are trying to trade Jeff "as good as PK" Petry
I would love to hear the value that they are asking for "as good as PK"

Keeps sounding more and more like Pronger to DoPS is going to be a thing. I actually tend to think he'd do a good job in the actual position. Not like Shanny was some angel in the league. The big issue here is the cap situation. The league created those 35+ deals to prevent teams from front loading deals and having guys up and retire. So, if the league allows Pronger to hold a position in their league office while still technically on a roster? They're literally breaking their own rules for cap circumvention. So, either he waits out his contract and we all pretend that this isn't cap circumvention (don't think I don't feel bad about his injury situation, merely that he probably wouldn't still be playing regardless), or he has to officially retire to take that position (never happening).

How many years left on his farce, errr. contract?

I think Pronger would be okay, because he's a pretty intelligent guy. But I still feel like a player who didn't play on the razors edge between right and wrong needs to be in that role. A Trevor Linden, Joel Otto, Ronnie Franchise, Housely, Hawerchuk, Gartner type guy. Obviously I know some will not be options.

Feels to me if you feel you can understand why someone would take a cheap shot, you would be more lenient towards them. Get guys who don't cheap shot and never did.

The role is perfect for Pronger - he's smart and he's a smart ass. The offenders can't bullshit him - he's been on the other side of it and will be able to see right through it.

And to kick things off, he should suspend himself indefinitely from the Flyers.

Contract runs through 2016-17.

I also don't know that I'd want a guy who basically allowed his brain to turn to mush take over a job that requires a genuine ability to think.

So many things I would like to say re: @NHLFlames loss tonight & no new contract for Hartley, but as Mom always said, if 0 nice 2 say, say 0

We have a table available for the Bitter party, dining alone again tonight?

He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun
He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One
They call him Heat Miser,
What ever he touches
Starts to melt in his clutch
He's too much!
