This is the only part I disagree on .....

Trade value isnt a Madden game .... we just released Ware .... and you saw what he got

If we are gonna rebuild .... Dez is the only player we have with trade value ...... In this draft ... You take it and circle the moon and don't look back

You cannot build a team around a receiver ...... it's never worked in the history of football

Sells Jerseys though

I said "build on". Why make a uncessary hole to fill when we already have way too many..

I'm not making a hole .... I suggested we put ourselves in position to walk away from a 10-15 million contract trading Dez.....

that moves us up to draft Watkins and gains us extra picks ...... gives you one hella young talented core of receivers and extra picks in the deepest draft we have seen in 15 years

Who is giving up 2 # 1's for a WR besides Jerry or Matt Millen?

I may be wrong, but if Jerry doesn't rework any deals to push back money, we should be in decent shape, cap wise, even by next year. I think we could keep Dez and still be fine with the cap going forward. The biggest problem we are going to face IMO is the ticking clock on Romo. He wight have 5 years left, but I'm guessing only 1 or 2 at his current level

I am kind of surprised by all of the big spending. I just see very few difference makers and many of them are getting overpaid. The broncos have obviously blown their wad this offseason. Lol at the skins giving big money to a scrub like louvala.

I think if we were to trade up it better be for Clowney.

I am not a fan of trading up at all, but if we do I would only want to trade up for Watkins. Especially if we use Dez to make that trade up!

I know everyone hates going back to the 90s Cowboys but Imma do it just to make this point

Hershal Walker DEMANDED the offense be built around him ......

2 weeks later his ass was out the door

and him out the door created a dynasty

Ultimate team sport ...... No one player makes or breaks a team If you gotta rebuild you take value when it is at it's max

I don't think even the most diehard Dez/Cowboys fans wouldn't be for a Herschel Walker type trade for Dez.

I'm not sure about that, even though Watkins is a great talent. It's a little out there, but let's say the Cowboys made that deal, Dez and a #1 swap plus we get a #2....That would leave us with Watkins and two 2nd's, presumably to be used on the D. However, WR is probably the deepest position in the draft this year. You might realistically add a Matthews or Cooks in the early 2nd. The two most likely trade partners are St Louis and Cleveland, since they have multiple top 40 picks. That puts us 2 or 4 overall, so there would be several ways to go. Watkins, Barr, Bortles, Robinson, and if QB went #1 overall, perhaps even...Clowney.
Hypothetically, if we were to add Melton in FA, I think OT Robinson, WR Matthews and DB Joyner in the first two rounds would be a haul. But would that be better than signing Melton, keeping Dez, and drafting say Dix or Pryor in the 1st and maybe DE Murphy in the 2nd?

Just depends on how you look at this team

Everyone copies the Superbowl champion

So do you take a draft as talented and as deep as this one ..... and in 4-5 years have an entire team of young talented players on rookie contracts for the next Qb to step behind (alla Seattle) and fix the cap issues

Or do you hand out 10-15 million contracts stay .500 and hope to be relevant and fix the problem at the same time?

On a side note, here's hoping Lee and Carter stay healthy all year. I saw where the Eagles signed Darren Sproles. I surely don't want to see backup linebackers trying to cover that little Idiot out of the backfield. With McCoy, Sproles, and Jackson, I'm guessing Kelly will take B Cooks and D Thomas in the draft and really have his Quack Attack in play next season. Right or wrong, I admire a guy that does things his own way

Steve Smith cut by Carolina, said to be interested in Cowboys, Ravens and Pats. Come on down

Think he gets more $ than we will offer, but like the player a lot. Pound for pound the toughest guy in the NFL...just don't see him coming here...

Yeah, I think he'll be a Patriot, but for one season, he could be a 1-2 game difference in record for the Cowboys IMO. They could simply outscore some people

I like Smith in Dallas if the price is right but I'm certain both Balt and NE will easily out bid us. He won't play 8 games at AT&T Stadium.

I agree he's one tough dude....I got my fingers crossed I would love to add Smith to our Roster. Sounds like the Panthers will be in the market for a wr. Maybe we can swap 1st and gain a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
