Johnny Manziel leads most controversial prospects in NFL draft

Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel
Suspect intangibles -- not a leader by example or known to inspire by his words. Carries a sense of entitlement and prima-donna arrogance seeking out the bright lights of Hollywood. Is known to party too much and is drawn to all the trappings of the game. ... Has defied the odds and proven to be a great college-system quarterback, but still must prove he is willing to work to be great, adjust his hard-partying, Hollywood lifestyle and be able to inspire his teammates by more than his playmaking ability.

That's a good thing.

Who wouldn't want to play a one read option Qb with a weak arm in his very first NFL game?

Not sure where Clowney ranks on this list, but I cant imagine him being too far behind. I would take both

There is no chance of that happening. He will go number 1

I doubt Jerry even has a round 1 listed on his chart.

With Jerry there is no telling ... we all know that ...
None of us dumb enough to think he takes a Qb in the 1st round though... no matter who

Imma guess with Jerry trading down and getting Frederick last year ... and that also being the trade that got us Williams .....

I'm 95% leaning towards a trade down

I think how this draft goes ... determines if Ware is a Cowboy next year....

Trading is a definite possibility. If we can trade back 5 or so picks and get a 2nd in the deal and still get a S or DT I'd be for it. However if that trade pulls our players out from under us there will be a bunch of screaming in my house.

I agree ....

But where guys are positioned at right now .... about 90% of them will change before the draft. Some up some down.

Trade down 4-5-6 spots and still get our guy .... pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd in the process I'm all for it

When talking trade we need to remember that our own rankings and the rankings of the Kipers/Mayocks are meaningnless. For all we know the team has one player that they absolutely love and put miles above the rest. So we may go into pick #16 with both safeties and 3 of the popular DL still there and think we can't lose with a trade down 5 spots, but the team may see that one guy they love on the board and not want to risk it.

Bottom line for us is the more QBs and WRs go in the top 15 the better and both seemed to have gone earlier than the mocks predict in recent years. 15 guys will go before we pick. I think 3 QBs are gone and a 4th is possible. If 3 WRs also go before us we are really looking to be in a good spot and I'd wonder if an unexpected player drops to us that we may even have ranked in hte top 5. I know no one wants to hear this, but I wonder if the above happens and the 3 obvious front 7 guys go and a couple CBs if we end up looking at a stud OT sitting there. I am not going into this draft looking for anything other than DL or Safety in the first, but it could make for an interesting decision. The draft isn't about one year, it's about your future.

Which is why you dont just take a player because he drops.

Too many holes on this team...... In fact if that situation were to happen..... You would get great trade value.

Ok so I mean what if you get a great player ..... you still leave yourself alot of holes to fill.

Which may mean by the time you fill those holes "said player" is a Free agent. I don't see it as a winning formula

I would never pass on a player I see as a great player. The league is built on studs that make those around them better. Once you clear your cap problem, finding average players to fill holes and depth is easy and inexpensive. Each time you put a stud at the top of a position it drops everyone down one notch on the depth chart. If you keeping taking average to good players that's all you will ever be. This isn't to say I prefer one player over two that are just slightly below him, but when you are talking about great players they are worth their weight in gold. Plus, the most important thing IMO is that we haven't shown to be able to consistently make good choices outside of the first round that can help us year one.

I disagree..... could actually say we have had better luck outside of the 1st

Witten, Ratliff, Lee, Austin, Hatcher, Williams, Murray, just off the top of my head
