You can never have too many knives.
As opposed to QBs who play their best against great défenses?
Where did you read where I said great defenses? I said good defenses that can stop the run.

Of course you wouldn't trade him for Cutler. Money & team style dictate that decision. But that doesn't mean he is much better than him.
Whather you want to admit it or not, Wilson's success stems from the team not needing him to carry it. The Seahawks are a run team first with the best defense in the league. That masks a lot of deficiencies & also makes a QB look better than he is. If you ask him to throw 35+ times a game while sitting in a pocket, his numbers would drastically different. His success is a product of his legs & his team.
Ok...tell me more about your QB woes from the 60's...that will be totally relevant to the discussion at hand.
An average QB would be ok in Seattle with that defense and running game.

Between the ears he is. Wilson plays smart every week, cant say the same for Cutler.
Don't have to go back that far, your exact quote was "most packer fans don't remember the last time they had a shitty QB". I guarantee the majority of packer fans remember randall wright from the 86 and 87 seasons..

Next thing you will tell me is that Alex Smith is a great QB
I didn't know that Russell Wilson played on defense.
Thanks for sharing that piece of wisdom with me.
It's easy to "play smart" when you have the #1 defense in the league on your side. There is no reason to take chance & not make the simple plays. But when you are on a team with one of the worst defenses in the league, you are not afforded that choice too often.

The DEFENSE factor would possibly eliminate your argument on Wins and play-off appearances.
Have you seen our offensive line? Have you seen our WRs? Going into the season the Seahawks believed that their #1 and #2 would be Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin. Technically the Seahawks are playing with their #3 and #4 as our starters.
Take WRs who struggle to get separation, add an offensive line that cannot pass block worth a damn and it is not a good combo. Russell Wilson has succeeded despite having mediocre WRs and a poor offensive line.
Wilson has the #1 defense in the NFL but that does not change the fact that he is a much better QB than Jay Cutler.
Ok. But would they win more games than any QB in history over their first two years?
This is still about his height, whether you guys want to admit that or not. You all are still victims of preconceived notions and not paying attention to what is really happening.
BTW, 25 years, in terms of a football time, may as well be a lifetime.
