So, this doesn't surprise me.

All those Art Briles to Texas threads:
I constantly brought up the idea that TEXAS would not hire a sleazy guy like Briles.
And it was immediately dismissed for some reason.

It is not openly discussed because the feel-good story of Baylor suddenly being relevant is better for the masses. But, he is know for recruiting thugs and illiterates.
He has zero discipline and more NCAA question marks than the entire SEC.
He takes personal vendettas over small slights and hides behind the "aw shucks" accent.

Briles is a DOUCHE and always has been a DOUCHE.

Patterson is a blowhard and a bit whiny, but he at least has the ballz to publically call Briles out for the crap he pulls.

I don't think Mack Brown or Bill Snyder would have the courage to pull it off like Patterson.

Patterson is arguably the only Big 12 coach who was in a unique enough position to say what all the other 8 coaches feel about Briles.

Why do you care so much about a team that isn't a threat to yours and your team isn't playing them any time soon either? Name one time Ohio St had an argument to play for the national title and didn't? That is the benefit of the doubt. No major programs outside of Bama and Oklahoma that can be said for except for your Buckeyes. You have overhyped every single team in the Big 10 all year long to build up your resume while shitting on every single other undefeated team. That bottom line is until Bama lost you really didn't have anything to complain about. I personally rank Ohio St over Florida St because I believe in Urban Meyer and Ohio St's talent level over Florida St and Jimbo Fisher. However, they have played a similar SOS and Florida St has looked more dominant. Baylor looked more dominant until the last couple weeks and now they have been ranked accordingly. No reason for your sarcastic, defensive, and bitter remarks on every team that was once a threat to Ohio St playing for the title. THAT is childish.

2. Wait, wait, so making a casual remark in a thread that was at the top of the page means I "care so much"? Take a step back, dude. This is what I mean by telling you to calm down. You are going way overboard with this.
3. 1998. And no, that isn't the "benefit of the doubt", because that would mean that every year they've been in the NC there has been legit reason for doubt that they belong. I also think you could easily put ND in that argument.
4. I talked up Wisconsin because I believed they were a really good team, and still do. They shit the bed this weekend, but lot of teams have this year. Other than that, I haven't hyped anyone else and have actually said several times that the B1G is down and that is Bama and FSU ended up unbeaten they deserved the bid over us. Briles and Patterson are both sterling examples of good Christians. They're just doing what Jesus would do. *sarcasm*

I think the reality is the TCU/BU matchup is becoming a heated rivalry. The Christian Bowl. I think Patterson expected to get the better of this, and is frustrated that Briles has entered the picture with his thug mentality. BU's vulnerabilities are starting to be exposed. Their bending the rules(blockers running down field to block on pass plays)was exposed by OSU, and we saw the results. Not saying TCU is angelic in their approach, as Patterson is a win at all costs guy too.

In the long run, a heated rivalry doesn't hurt the league. It is a physical game, and at the speeds they play, serious collisions will take place. Quite often, its the offensive player that initiates the helmet to helmet from what I've seen this season. The defender goes for the shoulders, and the O player lowers his helmet. In the BU/TCU game, the issue was what happened after the fact. Dixon taunting from the sideline after being expelled. That spells classless know matter how you spin it.

Are you being serious? They were #1 all year and steamrolled everyone on their schedule including 3 ranked teams, except for one upset vs. Michigan State. Florida State got the nod despite losing far worse against a team that was pretty much the same as Michigan State, however they lost earlier in the year which is literally the only thing that put them in the NCG. They had at very least a strong argument, and that's undeniable.
