Not sure if goes through, but if it does, what do you think? Personally, I'm pretty excited by the prospect, since we'd get to keep Elvis and Profar, while presumably adding some much needed RBIs and protection for Beltre.

Interesting comment. Seems to me that a lot fans' attitudes towards players are unduly fickle.

Fielder had some issues going through a divorce and he seems very sensitive about public perception. He needed a change in scenery. Plus it frees up cash for Scherzer…hopefully.

As long as Fielder isn't asked to be the man he will do well in Texas.

Kinsler will give Detroit a steady 2b. But not sure he is a better option than Infante.

Wow. I hadn't even thought about the financial aspects of the deal, other than I know it's desirable to keep a young guy like Profar, whose pay is presumably much less than Kinsler's. Getting Detroit to pitch in a large share to pay for Fielder, who I know signed a huge deal when he went there a couple of years ago, seems to be icing on the cake.

Well, we all knew that Kinsler, Andrus, and Profar weren't all coming back. Was hoping to get premium pitching back in a package deal for one of those three. Obviously Fielder is an upgrade over Moreland. Still hoping for a frontline starter.

Gonna miss Kinsler's leadership, not his pop-ups.

I think this trade benefits both teams. Hopefully Texas a little more.
