ROY being announced at 6 tonight on MLB

AL: Chris Archer, Wil Myers & Jose Iglesias
NL: Jose Fernandez, Shelby Miller & Yasiel Puig

Tough choices. All deserving (although I hope Puig doesnt get it b/c of his over inflated ego)

It shoud be Myers and Fernandez.

But with the way people vote in this country, I can definitely see the over-hyped person (Puig) winning in the NL.

people who work for good companies have today off.

it's not funny that the veteran who works to the right of me is in here today :L

Gotta call my Dad and wish him a happy V-Day. He was in WWII and was on the same beach in Normandy (Omaha) that we all saw in the opening of "Saving Private Ryan".

Luckily and thankfully, he was not part of that first wave we saw in the movie.

All vets should be honored - given the day off. Surely your company could do without his services for one day...

Based upon that story, it seems that Turner Field wasn't really a well conceived idea, and just served a purpose for the 1996 Olympics.

Fans need a convenient way to get to the ballpark.

What happens to Turner Field after 2016? Does it get demolished?

Voters here in NYC made a mistake when they voted against a football stadium on the west side of the city that would have housed the Jets. It would have brought nice revenue to NYC and the fans would have had an easier time getting to and from games. And...the Bills wouldn't be the only team from N.Y. that actually plays in N.Y.

the problem is companies really don't give a shit about employees anymore. we're owned by 2 financial companies which means all profit goes to people who do nothing for us.

he may have volunteered to work today due to a huge staff meeting in NY.

what they should have done was told him to stay home. period the end :suds:

Choo Seeking To Exceed Werth's $126MM Contract
By Jeff Todd [November 9, 2013 at 12:46pm CST]

Outgoing Reds outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is being shopped above the seven-year, $126MM contract inked by Jayson Werth with the Nationals before the 2011 season, reports ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick (via Twitter). The Scott Boras client, who is unquestionably one of the game's most attractive open market commodities, has long been rumored to be looking for nine figures, though a report yesterday said he was asking more in the $90MM range.

The Werth comparison does make sense, so far as it goes. Both Werth and Choo hit the market in their early thirties, coming off of high-OBP, mid-140-OPS+ campaigns. Werth has shown somewhat more pop, while Choo reaches base like few others. Each is regarded as a solid glove in the corner outfield. But as MLBTR's Tim Dierkes explained in profiling Choo, the Werth contract has been viewed as a non-precedential deal. Hence, he predicts, Choo will probably get something more like six years and $100MM. Of course, contextual perception is important; with Werth coming off of an outstanding year, Boras may be able to argue that the contract is hardly the albatross it has been characterized as.

Whether or not Boras can land a Werth-sized deal, there is little question that Choo is hitting free agency at an opportune time. The remaining corner outfield market is thin, Choo returned to his earlier-career levels of performance last year, and new TV money could provide a boost in salaries around the game.

Wow. Always thought Choo was a little over-rated myself...

The guy can't hit lefties, so how can you justify giving a guy that kind of money who is virtually useless one-third of the time?

Nothing great about his stolen base % either.

Never pay for a career year!

The stadium definitely caters to the baseball populus of North and west metro atl. The Stadium will be demolished just like fulton county stadium was. They might perserve the hank aaron HR 715 site, maybe put up a small museum, but who knows.

If this country goes full blown socialist like the dutch, then that's the reason why

If you can get 5 years of quality experience, then you're set....there shouldn't be any issues with finding a job

If this country goes full blown socialist like the dutch, then that's the reason why

it's getting there

the liberals are all centralized in and around major cities. i'm from the boondox and I hate boston and the people who vote there. same with the people who live in upstate ny/buffalo. they hate new York city.

the other problem is elderly and unemployed make up for more of this population than the workforce. so who do you think they all voted for? and the liberals with jobs in the cities? combined, they beat out country guys like me.

makes me sick that this great country will most likely be socialist by the time my son graduates HS.
