If you would have asked me what my dream was back after we started 0-4 in the Big 10 I would have said, "my dream is for us to get to 10-7 and have a chance to play a top ranked Wisconsin team at home to get to 11 wins and shock the world by getting a first round bye and ultimately making the NCAA tournament."

I would have said that.

Iowa gets their classlessness from their coach. In their past two away games Woodberry forearm shivered an IU player in the back of the head when he thought no one was looking and then they tackle a MSU player, nice.

They ARE a wrestling school....

Of the 150+ B1G teams who've gone over .500 in conference play, only 6 have failed to make the dance in its current format.

Nice win, Sparty. Classy move putting Chapman in there late. He'll remember that for the rest of his life.

4th at best if they can win vs Wisconsin.

Sadly enough I think Wisconsin is the best overall team in this conference (just don't say that shit to Wisky fans). Sparty may build on this win tonight but the real story of their season will be how they couldn't "get right." Michigan lacks a true low post threat and can have the 3 taken away. Iowa can't play defense worth a shit. Ohio State can't score worth a shit or rebound. And Nebraska lacks experience (tried to word that nice).

Pulling for Big Red but when Wisky is playing as a team they can hurt you bad.

We don't know until they play 'em.

Nebraska is at home and they both beat Indiana about the same. Difference being Nebraska beat Indiana @ AH. Indiana had just beaten Iowa and Ohio St back-to-back in there.

Both Nebraska and Wisconsin have won 9 of their last 11.

If Petteway can get dialed back in, I give Nebraska a good chance.

All you can ask is for Nebraska to have a chance late.

He's due for a big game.

Problem is, we don't know how much that knee is affecting his game.

It's got all the makings to be a conference classic but if Lurch starts popping tres you're going to want to find that happy place, and fast.

IU didn't have Vonleh for the Nebraska game though.

Well they had him the first time they lost to Nebraska.

It's @ Neb so I'm guessing (with little to no knowledge of gambling lines) that it will be less than double digits. Nebraska has played well on the road lately but is a different beast at home

Line won't be out until Saturday evening on Sportsbook.

I'm guessing Wisconsin (-6) or so.

Wisconsin's won 8 in a row, but I think that's a bit deceiving.

Their best wins were @ Michigan (2/16) and @ Iowa (2/22)
They were both on down cycles. Michigan lost 3 out of 5 in that stretch, and Iowa has lost 4 out of 5 since.

Nebraska lost bad @ Michigan (2/5), but had yet to win a road game in the Big 10. They finally broke their road cherry @ Northwestern (2/8) and have since won at Mich St by 9, and @ Indiana by 10.

Nebraska is 13-1 at home with the lone loss to Michigan by one pointt on a missed put-back at the buzzer.

Wisconsin may have had better depth (Beilein just recently started reeling in these 4 star freshmen) but a more accurate representation of player development would be production/minute from year 1 to 2 to 3, from 2007-2014 (Beilein's tenure) Wisconsin vs Michigan, not merely minutes per game. All that tells me is Coach X is playing upperclassmen Y hours. We have a different definition of player development. Now if Beilein's players weren't improving from year to year I think your point is valid but on the contrary it's the opposite.

Ryan took over a one year removed Final Four program in 2001 and has yet to get them back. Beilein took over a program that hadn't landed a berth in the NCAAs in 10 years, had them back in his second year and four years later in the national championship game. To me, the latter is coaching, recruiting, and player development. Beilein does not land a plethora of 5 stars....like Sam Dekker.

If you go through and look at the recruiting class averages (not the ranking because class sizes differ) between Wisconsin and Michigan over the last 7 years (depending on which recruiting site you pull your information from) you won't find a huge discrepancy...with the exceptions being 2013 and 2014. Beilein was turning shit into sugar long before last season. Nothing spectacular but good enough to reach the NCAAs and land a share of the B1G title. Without any top 10 5 star guys Beilein has Michigan in the national championship game and winning the B1G outright.

I take issue with the part in bold. It's not like that team under Dick Bennett was a world beater. UW entered the tournament as an 8 seed. To be honest, that team overachieved big time. Jon Bryant got hot along with the rest of the team. I'm not trying to insert myself in the debate, I just felt like that was an important point.

Bo Ryan and John Beilein are both great coaches. Bo Ryan has built UW into a winning successful program, Dick Bennett got UW headed in a right direction. John Beilein has built Michigan back into a winning successful program.
