Unfortunately, Lincoln is not a "destination" spot for high caliber coaches. Unless, $ is stupid high, which is what it will probably take
-------
Wehave never seriously went after a "high caliber coach". And no , I don't call McNutt a high caliber coach.

Thanks Brasky, you may be right, Lets check back on this in five years. Don't get me wrong here, I am Husker fan for ever, but this is getting stupid and out of control. I see no "light at end of tunnel: here or in next few years.
-------
That was pretty much the mindset when Devaney got hired--He took a 5-6 team and instantly turned it around. All it takes is an AD that knows what he's doing and I think we have that.

Everything won't come at once even if we hired the best coach in th country. But if we initially stop the big losses (I can handle losing by a couple of points) and have a coach that can deliver an adjusted game plan for the second half, as well as hire coaches that can coach players "up" to think "team", we'd be on our way. THAT alone would get us better recruits. The light at the end of the tunnel isn't that far away. Even Osborne in hiring "Bo" took the easy way out in going with a popular hire rather than going with a proven coach. We've been on that bandwagon ever since TO retired.

Someone mentioned the coach @ Northwetern, he'd be good although that might create a bit of bad blood stealing someone from within the conference. I still like Petersen from Boise State. He obviously hires coaches that can coach the team concept, doesn't need 5 star recruits to win, and might (now) be interested in a move like this so long as he doesn't bring his blue turf with him.

Recruits will not be as enthusiastic about it, we need a guy that can flat out recruit
-------
I just posted my dream coach, but Bohl would not be a bad hire. Recruits are ony going to care about winning. If Bohl can avoid the lopsided losses his first year, the recruits would line up so he too would be a good choice.

Bo's not gonna get rid of his buddies/lackeys in training so the handwriting is on the wall imo.

I've said it before and believe it now more than ever. Bo is just a run-of-the-mill Neuheisal/Pinkel type coach. He just happens to be at a better program which gives him a couple of extra wins a year. He'll never be elite though.

Anybody throwing Charlie Strong's name on the table need to realize he'll want to bring his staff with him and that means Shawn Watson back as offensive coordinator.

I doubt Watson wants to return, therefore I doubt Strong even considers Nebraska as he'll have similar options on the table.

We're never firing a 9 win coach again. He very well might win 9 gms, preach youth and talent, and we're sucked back in.
