As far as your evidence ramble and e- lawyer, what are you even talking about?? He made his claim and said he would provide his evidence or whatever once. Problem for him and now apparently you is that it never happened. Then you somehow want to piggyback on it?
Best thing about all if it was that I never said that they were or were not offered other deals. I only said I hadn't seen any. Based on the aftermath, apparently nobody else has either.

Uh, no he didn't. He very clearly stated that what he posted in his first post was all he was saying about it. Then, when you asked for "evidence". I'm assuming alink or something, he told you that he had already posted what he intended to. Sorry that you couldn't grasp even a concept that simple!!

Additionally, here is a link that, while it does not mention specific teams, does say that Young took less money to be a Laker and that playing for the Lakers has been a dream of his since he grew up in L.A. and played at USC!!

Again , nice story but someone saying something doesn't make it so. Otherwise CLs fingerprints wouldn't be on my visitor page.

Also, I never said they didn't or did turn down better offers. Just said I hadn't seen them.

And guess what, including what you just posted, I still haven't.

Also for an FYI, I like Nick Young, but players like him are hardly game changers in the NBA.

We'll see!! I like the idea of getting a top 5 draft pick for so little money, but the reason he is available for so little is because he hasn't panned out!!

Having said that, never underestimate a player in a "contract year"!!

Wes Johnson and his 8 points and 2.5 boards isnt scaring anyone. Neither is Nick Young 10.6 points less than 2 boards and 2 assists. Neither one shot above 42% last year.

these are marginal NBA players. You know it too. The lakers are just buying their time till the big offseason next year.

IF LA stays healthy next year ( Nash, Pau) and Kobe gets back semi early ( like misses no more than 10-15 games or less) then I think LA wins more games than they did last year and probably gets a 5 or 6 seed. Not great for sure but its not like this team was healthy for much time last year and when they were relatively healthy they were winning at about a 63% clip so I see no reason they cant win 48-50 games next year if everyone comes back at full strength.

truth to tell, i'm not discounting that one bit. but i think their doing a decent job of putting a roster together in spite of being capped out. my expectations? certainly not high. but you do have to like the job Mitch Kupchak's doing while being basically handcuffed...

Another thing is that Johnson and Young are both much better fits in a Dantoni system than they were with their prior teams. Doesnt mean either of them will be great but I think Young can easily be a 15 ppg guy and Johnson may be able to do the same if he can get his shot back.

So, you just like how he phrased it vs how I did?

We both said the same thing. They aren't game changers.

I never said Mitch wasn't doing an admirable job of trying to find minimum salary players to fit you're system .
He is.

It goes back to the same thing though, minimum salary players ( unless they are receiving outside amnesty money) are generally not NBA game changers.

They both played on even worse teams than the Lakers were last year. They're going to get a lot more open looks here.

To be a 5-6 seed means you need to pass 1 or 2 teams that were ahead of you, plus then stay ahead of Houston.

You actually see that? Which teams are you passing?

If you are assuming the Lakers healthy, you have to assume the other teams are healthy.

And, you can't come back at full strength if Howard/World Hate are gone.
There is no reason to assume who you replaced them with can be an upgrade, is there?

Nick Young has also been a 17+ ppg player in this league!! Wes Johnson was a top 5 pick in 2010!! The Lakers are signing these guys to 1 year deals for 2 reasons:

1. To keep as much cap space as possible for the next 2 free agent classes.

2. To see if any of these guys will be good enough to earn a spot beyond next year.

If any of them do, great!! If they don't, no big deal as it didn't cost the Lakers anything to given them a shot!!

Lakers fans aren't saying that they're game changers either, just good signings considering the circumstances.
