Ranking uniforms by conference

IN YOUR OWN OPINION: Rank the uniforms of each team by conference. Considering there is good debate here on uniforms and some people have a strong opinion about whether they are a good thing or a gimmicky thing, lets rank in our own opinions by conference the best uniforms. Give reason why if you want to.

PAC-12

1. Oregon - multiple combinations, they all look sharp and different, sometimes change to uniforms can be a bad thing, or it looks like a poor job by the maker, but Nike tends to do a great job with Oregon uniforms. They just look cool.

2. USC - this is where simple and tradition looks good. USC uniforms just show history and it looks good.

3. Stanford - Again, simple and much like the style of play Stanford plays, their uniforms seem to show that.

4. Washington State - Like the logo on the helmet, also some of their news combo unis look pretty good. Waiting for an all black uni and helmet, with the WSU logo being white, kinda like Jolly Rogerish, tribute to Mike Leach.

5. Colorado - Although you can now attribute the Buffaloes uniform to the state of Colorado's High School football team and although I cant stand this failure of a program, Their uniforms are pretty awesome.

6. Oregon State - Don't know yet about their new unis, wait to see I guess, but I did like their old ones of last year.

7. UCLA - simple, classic, better than the rest of what is left within the PAC.

8. Utah - Use to like them better than I do now, but overall the uniform just looks boring.

9. Arizona State - Would be higher had they stuck with Sparky on the helmet, but really with their new uniforms, the only combo I like is the all black.

10. CAL - would be higher but that awful stripe on the helmet kills them, without the stripe on the helmet CAL is higher on my list, but seriously, hate odd sized stripes on helmets.

11. Arizona - Something new needs to happen here. I know they just got a uniform overhaul, but it looks bad, nothing really changed but their colors. They need a new logo on their helmet or something, completely re brand Arizona, not just give them copper as a color. Also, their all red unis remind me of the outfit Britney Spears wore in that music video.

12. Washington - purple is ghey

SEC

1. Alabama - tradition, looks awesome and because Alabama has been winning a lot recently, the uniforms just look good on the big stage.

2. Auburn - the coloring is nice and fits together. I like the white helmets and they seem to stay pretty simple. Classic look works in the SEC.

3. Florida - Although the colors are bit 80s, I like Florida's uniforms, Don't like the all orange or orange tops. Blue tops, white bottoms or vice versa is Floridas best combo, the all white is pretty good too.

4. LSU - Just like the look.

5. Georgia - Would be soooo much better IMO, if they just ditched the dog bones pride stickers. I know this is a huge tradition at UGA, but I don't like it and think the uniforms would be better without them. But overall great combo of colors, silver, black and red is badass.

6. Tennessee - Classic look, although the orange can be a bit much, it works for Tennessee.

7. South Carolina - Good uniform, good look, just a little too many stripes.

8. Texas A&M - Would be higher, but those stripes on their shoulder pads are brutally ugly. Drop those stripes and TAMU has a real nice uniform.

9. Ole Miss - Good uniforms, ugly ass helmet. I don't know what else Ole Miss can do with their helmets, but drop the Ole Miss from it. Maybe have Rebels in script on it similar to Gators on Florida's?

10. Kentucky - Honestly, don't really know what UK unis look like these days as it seems like they change it more often than Oregon does. But I do know whatever it is it is better than the rest of the SEC uniforms.

11. Miss. State - Boring

12. Arkansas - Odd uniforms, the pride stickers make it worse. the hog is too small on their helmets. seems Arky is between wanting to be traditional and wanting to be new edge.

13. Vanderbilt - Drop the look of the helmet and Vandy could look decent, oh and its just Vanderbilt. ugh

14. Missouri - God AWFUL. Stick with the old look Mizzou. Not only are they the new cellar of the SEC, they simply do not belong by both their playing style and strength to their uniforms. Just bad.

PAC-12

1. USC - I like simple and traditional designs. You can look back at the great running backs (OJ, Allen, Bush, list goes on) and they all are wearing the same design jersey. I also think success brings out a design too. You don't need to see any logo or wording and 1st guess is USC.

2. Stanford - Simple, 2-color design. I like how they just have a tree silhouette as their logo, even though they are the Cardinals.

3. Oregon - I like their basic uniforms. I don't like how they have like 20 different ones. I know every team has those kinds, but Oregon originated it. I like the feather on the shoulder pads. I do think the yellow O on the green helmet is cool.

4 Colorado - I like how they have the gold compliment the dark colors. Not a big fan of the green unis.

5. UCLA - They have the blue and gold work well together.

6. Oregon State - I don't like the beaver logo, but their unis are alright.

Pac 12

Washington State - love the logo and the colors

UCLA - Somehow they make powder blue look great

Washington - love the purple, TCU sports my favorite unis

Oregon - have a few that would be my favorite (love green & gold/yellow) but some just don't work

Utah - the red unis are bad ass

Arizona State - love the introduction of black and changing yellow occur (sp) to bright yellow

Stanford - moved up now that they incorporate black trim tough to make one color and white look good. See Penn State

Oregon State - great name, logo just not a fan of orange and black

USC - great logo but this is what tradition and maroon get you in my book

Cal - blue and yellow could be sooo much better than they use it

Arizona - see Cal with red, white and blue

Colorado - just sucks

Big 10

1. Ohio State - Classic look, along with FSU, pride stickers work here. More pride stickers the better looking the uniform.

2. Nebraska - Simple, classic, looks promising of dominant look. Their uniform just fits their program perfectly.

3. Penn State - Ultimate classic look.

4. Wisconsin - Similar to Nebraska's, Nebraska gets the nod ahead because of 2 things, 1. Success and 2. I really don't like the super bolded W.

5. Iowa - Cool uniforms, cool logo on the helmet. They would be higher but I got one small thing I cant stand about their uniforms and it literally is a small thing. That dot on their helmets that someone told me has something tribute to the farmers? I don't know, but that small polka dot on their helmet is something I don't like.

6. Northwestern - both their traditional unis and their new alternative helmets are pretty cool.

7. Minnesota - Simple, pretty good.

8. Michigan - For some reason people LOVE these unis, to me, eh overrated

9. Indiana - I liked their old uniforms, we will see what their new ones look like, but right now not a fan.

10. Purdue - Black and gold looks good here. But overall a boring uniform

11. Illinois - No comment.

12. Michigan State - U..g...l...y..The different sized stripe on their helmet that overall is a huge ass stripe. Their uniform itself just seems like they are trying to be modern yet old fashion at the same time and not sure which direction they want to go. I think they also have pride stickers? Not sure, yuck overall. Not to mention for whatever reason their uniforms scream boring as well and it is fitting to their style of play. The Spartan logo is also seems boring and too simple for what they are trying to accomplish.

Ours were hands down the best until we switched to Nike and just became bland with tOSU scheme. And we better not go all black, the color black has nothing to do with our school, UW's black combos look completely lame. Though I do love their American flag helmet, kudos to them on that.

I think flat black helmet with the white WSU logo would look awesome. Again fitting for MIke Leach and his Jolly Roger look.

Also so many teams use black and it isn't even their school colors.

The black uniforms are there to make money. When you have a black out game fans have to buy extra shirts, hats, and other gear for that game. You are surprised by schools going for money grabs? Isn't it Oregon's fault many of the Pac schools have put a black uni in? Pretty sure they did it first as one of their 5 million options and while all of the other schools play catch up on facilities they too need to earn that extra cash.

As far as the bolded statement goes, what gift has UW received recently with their traditional uniforms?

Oregon has the package and received the gifts. PAC titles and BCS wins last 4 years.

And that might come off as talking up Oregon, so also look at Oklahoma State. BCS bowl wins and they got to the top by uni combo.

it's a figure of speech man. I care far more about the play on the field than what uniforms each team is wearing. The only uniform colors I hate in the pac are UCLA's. That gay ass pastel blue is about as lame as anything I've ever seen. I really don't care about anyone else's including UW's.

Great point and example with Okie State. Not a fan of orange and black, but with the addition of grey their unis are top notch.

I don't care about what Mike Leach's past looks like. He coaches the Cougs not the Red Raidiers. Pirates work for Raidiers not for Cougars. I already am not a fan of the Crimson away helmets with the new Nike away uniforms so I doubt I'd be a fan of black.

And yes Wiz, I get that school's go for the money grab, but I think that students have suffered enough with the money grab by the stupid Seattle game. I'd rather the Apple Cup be at the Clink every year for money than a conference game.

Yes and we had to the fight the NCAA over it. I loved the crimson helmets when we had (what thought) to be an awesome away scheme with the stripe, like the Bronco's stole while we were fighting the NCAA (supposedly)

I always loved our old schemes of crimson pants at home and a combo of gray or white pants on the road, Not sure how often you watch away Coug games but in an afternoon game the crimson pants look so fucking lame, kind of like the Beavs in those stupid Orange uni's or Bruins home games where they look like Care Bears.
