while I personally agree with this.
It isnt the world we live in.
Believe the question is who we think will win it.
Not who should win it.
because if that were the case. QBs would win it a lot less.

And to tell you the truth, you could flip Geno Smith and Purdy,SF still wouldnt miss a beat, and Seattle would still be Seattle.....a good, but not great team.

WIth that being said, how could you say Purdy is mvp if he was not gonna be the best player on that team......

Im betting you could have added most any qb in the NFL last season and put them in for Purdy last NFCCG and they are in the SB......maybe even won it.....when you can do that, then Purdy is not mvp level.......js man.......not trying to argue.

I disagree on Geno.
I think the offense would more look like when Jimmy G was playing. (lacking) With that defense they may still be getting wins, but with Geno it definitely wouldnt be looking easy.

What Purdy isnt getting any credit for is he is nailing his passes. These WRs arent catching horrible passes to make him look good. He is hitting them on the #'s or in stride.
He isnt playing some half ass game plan to protect his lack of whatever. He is making all the throws. he isnt afraid to throw tight window throws. He is playing at a very high caliber (high quality) if you watch his game. What does he do that makes you think. Damn this guy really needs to improve x.

Theres nothing he has really done to think he needs to improve on,but what isnt noted is the line he is behind that gives him the time.....Seems to me like hes never on the run to scramble from defenders.....that makes a huge difference.

Lets see how well he could do behind the oline Burrow has,hes one of the top sacked qbs.......

I lot of Seahawks fans have been unhappy with Smith this year. Many want him to be released in February.

I like Smith and Wilson, they've been great for the Rams
lol. I can see that. Smith surprised me, and pretty much everyone else, early last season. It got tougher for him as the defense got worse and the running game fell away. This year has been a regression and he'll likely fall below all 5 targets from 2022 that would escalate his 2024 salary. The Seahawks have to make a decision about him before his salary guarantees in mid-February. Most Seahawks fans have concluded that he's not going to become a top 10 QB and that they should pick a QB high in the Draft.

I think in todays game, it would be remarkable if a defensive player even got close. L.T. was the last one to win it and that was 37 years ago. The award has become too much of a QB prize and usually just the QB from the top seeded team or close. Kinda sad but true, unfortunately. Mccaffery could win it and Tyreke if he surpasses 2000 yds should get some votes but the people who vote have basically quit trying lately, it seems. Just my opinion, mind you. I think for anyone other than a QB to win, it will require shattering some records.
there was,nt a close second that year either.

lol. It's the predominant view at Seahawks dot net, (1 of Shaggy's other sites). I don't disagree with it. However, in their shoes I wouldn't want to go into the Draft without Smith as a back-up plan. Quite rightly Smith would rather the Seahawks make their decision as soon as possible. If released he wants to be available before the FA market officially opens. He took less 2023 money to get that early clause. I could see Carroll fighting tooth and nail to keep him though. Smith is due $22.5M for 2024. He's hard to put a FA market value on.

You like nonsense reading? Go to the Rams forum. Big game loser coach like Chuck Knox are praised while apparently McVay is a complete moron. Rams could win 50-0 and they would complain that they could of won 20-0 if only they ran the ball 75 times and passed it zero times. Running the ball is the answer to every play.

I thought the fact that he'll probably have another 1000 yards rushing might be worth mentioning, also the pressure that puts on the entire defense.

No chance. Genomics making the throws Purdy is. Purdy is making good throws and near the top on throws over 20+ yards. I think Purdy is a better decision maker. He’s accurate and doesn’t turn it over.

Was this for me? I've been kicked off most Rams forums. I try to avoid Rams forums now as my eyeballs tend to get stuck facing straight up.

Dude I would swap Belichick and the whole team say minus Judon for McVay. Give me the janitorial team for the Belichick sons and coaches

Altho I agree,I still think the Seahawks would be no better than their record is now.

The poll says “Who will win” while your OP asks “Who deserves to win”. Those are two TOTALLY different questions.

Who WILL win? Unless the SF/Bal game is REALLY close, I think the winning QB of that games takes the award. Brock or Lamar. If the game is REALLY close, I think Lamar wins because CMC will siphon votes away from Brock.

Who deserves to win? CMC or Hill. Since Hill missed this past week and is a question mark moving forward, I will go with CMC.

I voted Brock because I see the NFL through red/gold glasses.

Truth be told, the Niners' success rate has had as much to do with Trent Williams' availability as anything.
As critical as LT is (second highest paid position in the game?), no OL will EVER win this award.

You take an average NFL QB and put him into SF's offense, and their record is worse but not much worse.

You take an average NFL RB and put him into SF's offense, and their record is worse but not much worse.

You take an average NFL QB and put him into the Raven's offense, and they are fighting for the #1 overall pick.

Lamar should get his 2nd MVP this year.
It isn’t THAT hard to be a very good team in the NFL. Only one team gets to be THE best team, and fewer still get to dominate the way the Niners have. Getting over that “very good team” hump is HARD to do. Jimmy held this team at “Very good”. Brock got them to “elite”.
