So after 47 years, two ABA teams have won titles.

ETA; 2023 - 1976 = 47

Jokic the only player in NBA championship series history to lead the winning team in points, rebounds and assists.
He had the series of his career and defining moment of his career. I know he will cherish this moment but people say the future is bright for this team and it definitely is but no guarantee he even gets to a Finals again.

Murray played great and Jokic was unreal but lets not act like this is the best duo we have seen in the last 20 years. Murray averaged 21, he was very efficient but nothing crazy. I do thing Denver had a pretty easy road compared to other years, doesn't take anything away from them. Jokic is just so damn good at pretty much everything and it felt like he made everything he threw up.

But comparing duos from previous years in the Finals.

Giannis averaged 35, 13 and 5 and Middleton averaged 25, 6 and 5. Both pretty efficient as well.
Lebron averaged 30, 12 and 9. AD averaged 25 and 11. Both crazy efficient.
KD averaged 35, 8 and 6. Curry averaged 27, 8 and 9. Klay added 17 and 5. All 3 crazy efficient.
Lebron averaged 30, 11 and 9. Kyrie averaged 27, 4 and 4. Both very efficient.

Barely a top 5 duo in the last 10 years

Who has said Jokic & Murray are the best duo the last 20 years?

Jokic and Murray is a good 1-2 punch....and MPJ and Gordon are good 3 and 4 starters but those 4 are going to take up a lot of the salary cap.

Celtics would have been a much better series. Miami had nothing left in the gas tank.

No doubt and they will bump up against the high aprons of tax payers but their owners will pay for the next few years. They are all signed for a few years in their prime and cheap talent will want to play with that core. I also think Christian Braun is only going to get better. If that dude develops a reliable 3 which he has the skills to do, he will be a heck of a player on a rookie deal. The Nuggets window is open for at least the next two-three years. They should be the favorites in the West next year, but some other team will make a splashy deal on paper and be the favorite which is just how the nuggets like it.

Kroenke is a conservative owner of the Nuggets....never been a high tax payer.

He did it with the Rams when they got the SB recently but since they have started to trade players to lower their salary....

And the new CBA is going to be very punitive for teams paying the tax....

I don't think the Rams are resetting because he's cheap; they just pushed it about as far as they could and weren't a strong bet to be competitive even with all those pieces returning.

I'm glad Jokic now has a finals win on his resume. He's been so polarizing from getting maybe too much credit, to then being called a stat padder. It's clear he's one of the greatest centers of all time and has justified all of his MVP's to date.

I just wonder how many years he wants to do this. Seems to me he would be good with playing another 7-8 years, or he could retire tomorrow.

Just a total enigma in the best way.
