1st round of bids is done. It will followed by a 2nd round of people deemed to have a chance.

How much control do you think RR will have? I am guessing that is part of what Snyder and RR are meeting about next week.

Shouldn't the top bidders have a list of demands for what they want

Really there Probably is 1 or 2 that set themselves apart from the rest in buying the team I would tell RR who I want re-signed who I want cut who I want to go after in free agency what I want to happen in the draft whether it's drafting a player or trading down for more picks and if he doesn't do it his ass is fired as soon as I'm officially the owner

Franchising payne costs $19m for a defensive end. Fine. Franchise him, work towards a LTD with him, rehab mathis and Ridgeway, and see if they are good replacements.

Essentially - gasp - I believe that skinsdad is 100% correct with his previously stated plan for Payne, and agree with his logic.

Miracles do happen…

They can't do that until the sale is official. It isn't official when Snyder agrees to sell to a person or group, it is official when the owners approve of the new owner.

Snyder was originally part of a group let by Howard Milstein. Milstein withdrew his bid, which would have set a record price for a professional sports franchise, at a league meeting April 7 after it became apparent that he did not have the 24 votes needed for approval among the 31 NFL owners.

Following that Snyder submitted his bid without Milstein.

The gist of the story is it ain't over until the NFL says it is over.

brian mitchell wasn't too kind regarding RR's comments today, and i kind of agree
Well, Ron is one of the few that knows for certain if Dan is selling or not.

I know there was word that we were high on him pre draft, but he looked bad against us. That was some of the worst QB play I had ever seen.

I really liked him at Ohio St. and he still has a ton of potential. If I'm Chicago I probably hold on to him and get a King's ransom for my #1 and if need be try and use that return to go get Caleb the following year if I have to.

As far as the Skins go, I'd continue to check in with them as the draft nears, but there are some other options that I would explore first.

So the Raiders are going to evaluate the market for Carr. Does anyone actually think a team will trade for Carr and his 40 million price tag? I could be wrong but isn't it more likely that they just cut him outright? He will only be a 5 million cap hit for Raiders. Unless a team feels Carr is "the guy", I would bet that teams just wait for him to be released. No need to give up draft capital when you don't have to.

This reminds me of the Wentz trade last year to be honest. I can see a team panicking and making a trade for him instead of just waiting for him to be cut. I am not sure Carr gets 40 million + a year with a new deal. There again, 40 million is the 7th highest QB salary in the league, so it is NOT that outrageous.

I wouldn't trade for Carr, but if it becomes clear that a LTD with Payne is not going to happen, I wouldn't be mad if they pivoted to Carr if he was a FA.

Here we go again. If a team for example the Jets really want Carr they would trade for him. They have plenty of cap room and they will get a legit QB. They wouldnt care about trade compensation. Sure, they could wait to see IF he gets cut but then if that happens you are competing with other teams for his services. The ball would be in D. Carr's court, and he can sign with anyone he wants. By making the trade you are guaranteed that guy. I see teams being aggressive for this QB

Agreed.

I can see the Texans or Jets swinging a trade. I think we set ourselves up with Payne last year. When we drafted Mathis, it was almost as if the writing was on the wall.

I know I am in the minority here but I do not think we should tag Payne. This has never worked out for this organization (Cousins and Sheriff). We should have traded Payne earlier if it was never in the cards to resign him. Mayhew's remarks didn't give me the impression that this is going to happen. Does Payne even want to be here? Who knows.
