I have never been a Steele Walker fan, but he is starting to put together a good season at AAA. He has 3 hits tonight as well.

As some on here may say
“We don’t need good, we need great” lol

I think Steele Walker is doing pretty swell so far!

The minor leagues is so much more fun to follow when you actually have guys at the triple A level worth keeping an eye on.

Down east is mediocre so far this year.

Josh Smith did get another hit, but not a HR. His last hit was another double though. Two doubles, a single and a triple.

Steele Walker ends up with five hits including 3 doubles.

Blaine Crim with 3 hits tonight, including a double. His OPS is up to .936. Duran's OPS is .901 after going 1 for 4 tonight with a double of his own.

Josh Smith has had a slow climb after a horrendous start to the season, but he finally has his OPS up to .808. That is still 100 points below his minor league career average. He only has 558 career at bats in his brief minor league history. That is less than what some big leaguers get in one full season.

We are seeing some extremely positive results on offense at the minor league level and while we have seen some bright spots our pitching has been an issue overall.

not worried about Leiter yet. The kid needs at least a year or 2 in the minors to get used to the higher level of competition.

I'm not either but our starters have really struggled overall. And I am glad to see what Otto and Dunning are doing at the MLB level as they have had more ups than downs.

Yes none of our upper level starters are blowing it out and even Winn is not likely in the fast track.
Think he will do well but he does not look like a phenom

Good point but outside of Leiter we are not seeing an Ace at this point even White and Vanasco. Winn never was thought of in that fashion Roby has had issues
Upper level guys nothing great like Alexy and Latz

We have lots of depth but no SP including Winn demands a promotion to MLB ball yet.
Not trying to be a downer but just think we need to tap the brakes and maybe let the development continue minus some relievers who are definitely ready but roster spots may be a factor despite apparent fodder lol

at some point we are going to have to see what they can do against MLB-level talent before we make a decision on them

Yeah, I never expected Winn up here before August. That is still a possibility. I think him and White and Leiter are the makings of a very good rotation. Those three should eventually be as good as any three pitchers we had in our last trip to the World Series.
