Can't have it both ways. Either he was an overrated QB and his success relied far more on the LOB and Beast Mode than the media let on
or
Ciara changed his priorities

Wilson would have had greater success here had they just not threw away so much in resources and capital and the missed draft picks. The Defense is one of the worst in the league and he took them to the playoffs last year. The offense is archaic and relies on a very special running game something you can not get from RB's that can not stay on the field. QB play was not the problem on this team and if any of you think it was you are High. Now the price for that QB seemed high but now it seems CHEEP lol. We most likely have to pay Metcalf 20+ a year to keep him, player salaries is what's going to kill the game of football.

willis is a project and pickett has baby hands. this is a shit draft for QB and a good draft for DE, OT, and CB

which are both desperate needs right now.

why would we trade a #9 for a 1st next year which could be in the bottom 3rd? use 9 to take BPA, the chances an elite player sitting their for us is high.

If the Hawks traded the #9 pick for a bottom 3rd pick that is on them. That would be one of the worst moves in NFL History! Top 10 picks net you more than a single Late round 1st what planet do you live on? lol

Now is NOT the time to address QB in the draft when you are looking at the worst QB draft class in over a decade or close to it. I myself would Roll with Lock and Trade our #9 pick this year for a 1st next year and a 2nd this year. This would leave The Seahawks with 3 #1 picks in 2023 allowing them to do WHAT EVER they want including grabbing the #1 pick if they did not earn it for being the worst team.

With the way Seattle is building their team, now IS the time to take a new QB. You can wait around forever for the 'right QB' class only to get Trevor Lawrence who was the second coming of Manning/Luck and watch him bust horribly with your shit ass team.

Seattle a) Has a VERY good WR group - arguably best in the league, b) An ABOVE AVERAGE OL if they sign Trenton Brown, along with Blythe (already signed) and I'd argue top 10 especially if they draft a guy like Cross with the #9 overall, c) not THAT bad of a DL. It's certainly WAAAAAAAAY better than it was last year. Ford, Jefferson, Harris, and Woods? That is a VERY good front 4. Add in Brooks and Nowsu.. it's not BAD.

Mac Jones was EASILY the best rookie QB last year. Mac Jones was also considered a likely 2nd round prospect, nowhere near the other QBs, and had EASILY the best season... Why? Because he was surrounded by talent.

I actually get what Seattle's trying to do. And is there enough talent in this draft to do it? Yes.

Now is NOT the time to waste a pick on a 4th round talent QB. Drew Lock is better than Any QB in this draft right now. Maybe one of them becomes a solid back up but i don't see ANY in this draft that will ever be anything more than a back-up. YAY lets just spend our #9 pick on a fooking Kicker because i can bet you he would be better than ANY QB drafted. Next year now thats a different story. Right now we got 2 First round picks in 2023 and ours will be most likely top 10. Imagine having 3 Picks in the first 20 selection of 2023, think of what that could do for a team. You can Move up to #1 if there is a sure fire #1 QB or you can build a Oline for the decades with 3 starting quality Lineman. You could find your Left and Right Corners and the meanest of all DE there is so much you could do with THREE first round picks all falling between 5th - 18th. You could draft a STUD Safety a Stud CB and another Stud Linebacker and Have the middle and back end of your defense solid for another 5+ years. turn that 1st into a 1st next year and a 2nd round pick and most likely another mid to late round pick.

Drafting a QB from this QB Class is foolish and asinine. That's like taking a thousand dollar bill and wiping your ass with it because it's the only "paper" you got on you at that moment. Screw that!

I never said to draft a QB with the #9 overall.. I'd prefer (as I clearly said in my post) to take a franchise OT like Cross or even an Edge rusher and then an okay QB prospect in the 2nd round.

Lock is better than any QB in the draft? Are you out of your fucking mind? Lock is PROVEN in the NFL to be a bust. It's OVER... Jesus, at least TRY to get someone and an early 2nd with 2 available and a ton of picks next year is not bad.

Carroll/Schneider have already said they're not blowing up/tanking the team (which is reinforced by the moves they've made) so tanking for Stroud/Young is NOT HAPPENING. So get it the F out of your mind... because if you want this team to go 0-17, it's NOT HAPPENING. The roster is too decent right now for that to happen... and Lock is NOT the answer, so a QB is getting drafted whether you like it or not.

Lock has played a whole 24 games not even 2 seasons worth of play. Yes he is not a franchise QB but you know what he is? He is cheap on a team that needs cheap that couldn't win right now with the Best QB in the NFL. So why waste a pick on any of these QB's in the first or 2nd or 3rd rounds? they are NOT worth it and you dont OVER draft or you end up like the Browns and Jets.

Lock is athletic, mobile and no one expects him to succeed, thats fine because with him we get a top 5 pick. If we draft one of the QB's in this draft we will end up with a top 5 pick also but we will have wasted the #9 pick to do so HAHA!

build your team you get pieces in place then you pull the trigger. I wouldn't draft a high to mid round QB till next year. I might grab one in the 6th or 7th round this year. I am 100% fine running with Geno Smith ( if he did come back ), Eason and Drew Lock for 2022 because they will give us the same result as any of these rookie QB's.

Read this snip it to give you an idea how bad this class is

"To determine upside, I looked at the top five quarterbacks each year and found which of that group ranked highest in my pre-draft model. And generally, there was at least one gem each time.

The lowest-ranked top quarterback came in 2013. That was Geno Smith, who ranked in the 86th percentile of my model entering the draft. That was the year where E.J. Manuel was the lone first-rounder, widely considered one of the worst quarterback drafts of the recent era.

This year, Pickett leads my model among that group of five. He's in the 79th percentile, 7 percentage points short of Smith. It's the first time since 2010 that no top-five quarterbacks are in the 80th or 85th percentile of my pre-draft model."

These guys would have been drafted AFTER Geno Smith in one of the worst QB draft classes EVER the 2013 NFL Draft, 2022 should beat that class for pure garbage QB's. These are 4th and 5th round players and some idiot teams will draft them in the 1st LMAO how to ruin a franchise for a decade for dummies.

I know I am DONE with these stupid Over drafting of players by the Hawks. How many years are teams going to scratch their head and say "wtf why did Seattle do that?" Couldn't find a trade partner last year because no one feared the Hawks would pick their guy they knew it would be some late round reach drafted 2 rounds to soon.

isnt that potentially what you are suggesting? trade #9 for a 2nd this year and an unknown 1st next year? that would be an awful trade.

Metcalfe isn't staying. Carroll and Schnieder do not pay top dollar for receivers. And Metcalfe has been a little more diva every year. He'll want top dollar and then some.

Damn it Shark, put the 7 and 7s down and get some sleep. This isn't the draft to get a QB but to build up the roster. Starting Lock will get us into the mix with Houston/Carolina/Atlanta and probably the NY Giants for Stroud or Young in the 2023 draft class. With any luck we'll be worse then 3 of those 4 teams and that's good.

Do we trade him now or wait until next offseason and do a tag and trade?

I think they try to extend him this off season ( they have lots of cap space 2023) and if they can't do that he gets traded this season or at least they try to trade him this season.

Well, I guess if they really are sacrificing this season to build for a future contender, and it seems like they are, then it would probably be better to trade him now, when Schnieder can still has somewhat of an upper hand in negotiations. If they wait til next winter, potential suitors may see Seattle's situation with him as more vulnerable.

We have to be top 2 to get Stroud or Young... and with what they have on the roster at the moment assuming they sign Brown/Penny, their team is not bad enough to do it. And Carroll has already said he does not want to blow it up and tank for those two QBs.... he wants the team to be competitive. Now I don't think anyone is worth taking at #9 and I'd rather have Cross or an EDGE, but I like the idea of using one of the two second round picks on a QB.

And sorry, I'd rather have that than go 0-17 and tank for a QB... and then bring one into a team that sucks ass. Trevor Lawrence is getting a firsthand look at what that's like.

Whether or not Metcalf (not Metcalfe) is a diva or not is debatable. But I do agree that they should probably trade him. He will want a $25+ million a year contract extension, and since we traded Wilson to avoid salary issues, then Metcalf should fall into the same catagory.
