Both Philly and NO have reached out to Doc.

Wow. I really don't think he's as bad as everyone is saying. Have we forgotten what he did last year?

I don’t think he is bad at all. He isn’t great either. He is a solid coach.

But the Clippers underachieved terribly and they had chemistry issues.

They needed a scapegoat and Doc was it.

Might not hurt to start over with a new voice leading them.

I'm shocked they actually made this move. I mean its really the only move they could make since they are basically locked into that roster for another year, but I'm still shocked they made it. Woj says in a tweet that Lue and Jeff Van Gundy could be top candidates. I don't really see how Lue would be an improvement since A) he was already on staff and B)Literally came up as a Doc coaching disciple and I don't really much difference in how they approach things. JVG could be interesting but he's so far removed from the game now that I have no idea if it would work or not.

Short memories. Major upgrade for Philly if they bring him in.

Doc was a failure in LA. To never make it to the conference finals is the definition of failure when you had the rosters he had

There isn't a bad coaching job open right now. I would take any of these jobs especially as a new coach.

Philly
Houston
Indy
OKC
New Orleans
Clippers

Indy is a bad job. All their guys are looking to leave, but there will be a certain level of expectation given the regular season records last couple years. Nowhere really to go but do

OKC could be good if the coach is given a free pass on the first couple seasons. Could also be the next next coach who benefits from all the assets.

That's the weird thing with him. He did a fantastic job with that team, but his far more talented teams underachieved as much as last years overachieved.

Maybe he just can't coach talent. Like a reverse Phil Jackson or something.

Imo, that had more to do with KG, Pierce and Ray Ray than it did with Doc.

he only had one year with a healthy KG. They still went to multiple finals and conference finals during their run. Not like 2008 was a fluke. But a healthy kg mattered against Lebron and Kobe.

Apparently, the Clippers had enough of him coaching talented teams and failing. Hard for anyone to keep a job where you are overwhelming favorites and give up a 3-1. Doc is the king of giving up 3-1 leads with the more talented team

CBS SPORTS is reporting Rivers was fired. PG is def going to follow him out the door as many have speculated George was the core of the so-called locker room cancer and bad blood that existed with the Clips in this weird year. I suspect Kawhi will not be long for the door as well.
