Sad to see the news, but it's not unexpected. It's a very expensive product to produce for a season and the US economy isn't going to be strong next February.
Chess gets a bad rap.Like he said. The dead season. Sans nba and nhl layoffs, and March madness. The others are as boring as watching chess
more action than baseball.Chess gets a bad rap.
They just need better commentators to spice up the moves & it is cant miss TV!
@Rock Strongo you thought the same as me, funded for 3 years, they had good numbers, theres more to this story thats not coming out.
Thanks China
da fuq, i thought vince put up 3 years worht of operational money up front, so even if the league ran in the red, they were good for 3 years......
the wwe stock tanked i posted it earlier, im sure that has alot to do with this, since he took out against the wwe to fund this, 3 years up front.Remember that he still has the WWE. they are still hosting events from their Florida studio.
I am very unhappy that they have no plans to return for 2021. their merchandise sales were doing well.
Well this as to be expected, of course there were quite a few idiots here that thought for sure " This will be different:, "They will get right this time", " Don't bad mouth it give a try". How many leagues do we have to see fail before these morons realize there are two ways to watch football in America. College and NFL that is it.
Personally I think they were gonna fold anyway and are just using the virus as cover. Like they would have played out the season to say they got further than the AAF did, but it was gonna end anyway. My gut tells me that "3 year funding" was only contingent on the league getting certain returns. They weren't getting those returns. This allows them to say the league didn't fail again, which would be a huge embarrassment to Vince McMahon. Going this route they can plausibly blame the virus.
But if they really had 3 years of funding, I don't see any reason why the league couldn't start up again next year. If its there, you're not losing anything.
Neither worked because they both sucked and are sub par footballHaving 3 years of funding really has nothing to do with it though. Now Vince doesn’t have to pay for any of the contracts of league officials and coaches. The AAF folded because there wasn’t enough capital, this XFL didn’t work because there is no more revenue to offset the massive overhead.
Which league?Freakin' coronavirus. Killed a perfectly good football league.
You dolt, do you even know what planet you are on????The what is now the what what?
Well and one started up right at the beginning of the worst global pandemic we've seen in decades.Neither worked because they both sucked and are sub par football
And here come the excuses. As if had the pandemic not occurred they would have somehow played better football.Well and one started up right at the beginning of the worst global pandemic we've seen in decades.

The league did not fall do to the damn Virus, STOP IT! The league failed because it was shitty football, period! Yeah they tried some novel approaches they were interesting, but the talent and overall play was flipping horrible. I will concede the virus did not help, but there is no way this shit was gonna last.this league had several innovations that many fans liked. they put a premium on scoring, ( remember the old AFL)
this league fell due to the virus and not poor games.
Agree that they were sub par football, but I like some spring football. I was rooting for both leagues to succeed. Better quality than college but not near as good as the NFL.Neither worked because they both sucked and are sub par football
I don't even have words for how retarded this statement is.And here come the excuses. As if had the pandemic not occurred they would have somehow played better football.
