Right I forgot Kyle didn't make any bad decisions
Ok, Kyle deserves 12% of the blame.

The refs let both teams play I thought, and imo did a great job of making themselves mostly transparent.
Yep...and why I'd rather look for reasons to credit the winners than figure out who to blame.I'd quibble with the percentages but sure. In the end is it really 'blame'? One team has to lose, everyone did their best and on that day one team got more points. Another day might be the reverse.

On the coach..
I do not believe KC could have stopped the run game for 3 consecutive series. I’m glad KC won and I think their defense was lights out in the 4 th qt. But had SF just ran the ball I don’t think KC wins. IMO
2nd and 5 and you call passing plays twice? Bad coaching. At that point in the game, running out the clock was as important as getting a first down. Running also gave them the best chance at a first down. Kyle had no confidence in JG at the end of the first half, but all the confidence late in the 4th quarter. Makes no sense. This one is on Kyle.Wow, this poll is wrong.
Jimmy deserves 100% of the blame.
I don't know, 1st downs are what kill the clock faster than anything. Guys were open. If you think running it 3 straight times and willing to go for it on 4th and short was the right call, I'd agree; passing it and going for the kill is always something I'll defend. LOL @Tom Ace showing up again (at another terrible juncture), to tell the world how Jimmy G is an elite QB.He didn't even play that poorly. Every QB is going to have periods where they miss some throws. First drive of the 4th, he missed one throw, and they punted. Next drive, he missed two throws he shouldn't even have been attempting. Not great, but it's hard to fault a guy for two plays. The worst was the (final) drive when he missed three straight throws. That's not good, sure, but he shouldn't even have been in that position to start with. He did make some plays right before that to get them to midfield.
In order I chalk this one up to:
Mahomes
SF Defense
Shanahan
Jimmy G

Yep. Whole narratives rise and fall on those inches. In the end, sports is mostly about luck. All the teams are full of professionals who are the best in the world at what they do. The winners just get things going their way a couple more times each week
But running it and getting a first down competes both goals. They've had no issues running the ball, it was their strength. Needing 5 yards in 2 downs seems like a running opportunity. If they got no gain on 2nd and 5, then they can throw the ball. Even a no gain rush runs the clock. So a failed play still is a positive. They had more issues running inside than out and were getting double chipped on the edges later in the 2nd half. It's a nuanced call and I think either or is defensible here. The end of the first half was a lot more egregious than that sequence, imo.But running it and getting a first down competes both goals. They've had no issues running the ball, it was their strength. To further my point, especially on that particular 2nd and 5 play, I am currently re-watching the game, but I looked it up just to be sure. The Niners managed to get Terrell Suggs covering George Kittle on that play. How the hell is that Kyle Shanahan's bad? It's either Jimmy G has a predictable cadence or Chris Jones made a great play. That's about the only two possibilities here. They had more issues running inside than out and were getting double chipped on the edges later in the 2nd half. Baseball is the luckiest sport of all, being the best regular season team has almost no correlation with winning a title. Ask the 2001 Mariners. And the luck of our teams has been pretty good. All three Giants World Series titles can be viewed as lucky. LOL.

Giants were underdogs in every single series including the play in games all three years. Yeah, they had a lot of luck. Although they had maybe the best playoff manager.of his generation too.
I kinda agree that the plays were there, guys were open.Run the ball and run out the clock up 10. This is on Shanny.
