The Chiefs S-U-C-K against the run. Titans vs Chiefs and Derrick Henry will break every rushing record against KC. The Titans will have the Chiefs DL on oxygen by the end of the first quarter. Henry will rush for somewhere between 225-260 yards and he'll need oxygen by the fourth quarter.

Mahomes can't run like Jackson and even with 100 yds rushing he couldn't solve the Titans defense.

Vrabel learned well in NE and has taken the Belichick method to heart. Take away a critical piece of your opponents' offenses and force their defense to adapt to something new. Like your running back throwing a 3 yard TD pass on 3rd and Goal.

You love the Chiefs, but be realistic. 50/50 is the least I'd give the Titans.

I think the Chiefs have already celebrated not having to play the Ravens and just might get their asses handed to them today.
The Titans suck more against the pass than the Chiefs do against the run is kind of the thing here.

All of this Titans talk and I just want the Chiefs to beat the Texans today.

I would be very worried. History has shown what happens when you have a team in the playoffs like Henry.

They're going to be tough. That's the nature of the beast. Hardly ever going to have a trash team fluke their way to the CCGames. With that being said- not going to bet against Mahomes at home until they lose.

The Chiefs aren't really equipped for a rock-fight or trench warfare, with that being said. It's a track team at heart- a really fucking good track team, one that might not be stopped, but it's a track team stylistically.

So?

If we need to go back a couple months for the last home loss, with one of them being with a backup QB to an eventual 13-3 team, I think we're really reaching here.

The Texans loss had the following injuries

Chris Jones: Out
Fisher: Out
Wylie: Out
Hitchens: Out
Watkins: Out
Clark: Neck
Hill: Snap-count
Mahomes: Gimpy ankle

I don't think this is the same group that dropped 3 ugly games at home whatsoever. One of those losses was a 1 score game with Matt Moore at QB against the Packers, who are still playing in the playoffs. If Jones is inactive for some reason, maybe I'll panic a little more as he's the 2nd best DT not named Aaron Donald when healthy, imo, but the Chiefs have a pretty golden opportunity.

My footballoutsiders numbers I'm looking at are saying the Patriots had the 6th ranked rush defense and Baltimore has the 19th ranked rush defense.

I think the issue that the Titans have with the Ravens is that the Ravens can really jump on teams at the start and if the Ravens get a lead then the Titans are going to have a really hard time coming from behind.

Neither team is really built to come from behind and the script was flipped on the Ravens...for a change they were the ones behind and they couldn't do it.

Kudos to the Titans.

This is what is called a combination of justification and enabling.

Oh, there's gonna be none of that if they lose to a mediocre to bad Texans team at home in a game where they're fairly healthy for January- with a golden route to the SB.

Hell will hath no fury if the Chiefs blow it to the boob O'Brien off of a bye.

The Titans I have more respect for.

They have as good a chance as anybody left after today. I'd believe their chances are better against the Texans than the Chiefs, but what do I know?

You can call O'Brien a boob but he's never shit his pants anywhere near the level of Andy Reid.

We all wear homer glasses and even you have said that the Chiefs have been handed a golden route to the SB. The only problem that the Chiefs have is that Andy Reid also believes that and it will be the downfall of the Chiefs. I'd bet the bank that Reid is grinning and rubbing his hands together like he's been handed a ring. 90:10 he finds a way to screw it up and the Texans and Titans will be playing in the AFCCG.

He lost 30-0 to Andy Reid. In the playoffs.

That doesn't mean anything today. The teams are different and so are some of the guys on both staffs. All good, Reid is a good coach, the guys on here bitching and talking shit about coaches and players don't earn their paychecks in the NFL, so can say what they want, but probably don't really know a damn thing when it's go time.

DVOA rankings of teams coming into this weekend (prior to updates)

Overall:

1 Ravens
2 Chiefs
5 49ers
7 Vikings
8 Seahawks
9 Titans
10 Packers
19 Texans

I don't think I am unreasonable for drawing a bright red line in why I would find a playoff loss to the Texans to be inexcusable.

Mahomes fan here so if nothing else I'd like to see him play well. I think KC is going to win this one but if I were a KC fan, I'd be on pins and needles. If it's a one possession game he might stick with whatever game plan they spent 2 weeks on...but if HOU jumps out to a two possession lead, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Reid airs it out and abandons the run.

Agreed. Both teams were built to have a lead although the Titans are a 2nd half team while the Ravens were mostly a 1st half team.

Titans just punched them in the mouth. Rust? Maybe.

Yup. You’re right. If someone told me at the start of the the playoffs that tenn was going to the super bowl my first question would’ve been so who knocked out KC for them? Cause that’s the tenn death matchup.

I kinda thought New England was the Titans 'death' matchup. Titans are one-dimensional and the Patriots are good at taking away your top guys.
