I know you have to pay market value no matter how it got that way, if you want to win a WS eventually.
Unless you are KC

according to the article on Bleacher Report & Evan Grant it would have to start with one of: Sam Huff, Josh Jung, Cole Winn or Hans Crouse and then depending on which the Rockies selected it would either from a group of Solak, Walker, Ornelas or Basabe or a group of Palumbo, Burke or Allard. and there would probably have to be another prospect like Garcia or Florentino.
expensive but worth it.
personally I would offer Crouse, Solak, Walker and Florentino as my initial offer

No way i would give up Crouse

The Rangers look to be big players on 2021 free agent superstars

the offense and defense he has put on the field will offset some of the pitching problems but Moreno will not back off from trying to find pitching

That all depends on how willing he is to go over the spending cap and pay the penalties. And how willing FAs are to going to a sub .500 team, just because Rendon was willing to go there doesn't mean others are willing to go there. Sooner or later those big boat anchor contracts will cause them to blow it all up and will be before they get close to a WS championship.

Take Pujols for instance he's been sub replacement since 2016 and still has what 3 years or so to go at $30M per, all money that could have been better spent of the pen. A big bat lineup will very seldom win you anything if your pen can't get the other side out, especially come playoff time if they make it that far. (which I would think any Ranger fan that has been around the team for any length of time can relate to). Heck even as dumb as Hicks was he realized A-Wads contract was a team killer and off loaded his ass, didn't do the team much good but he off loaded it nevertheless.

I know you have to pay market value no matter how it got that way, if you want to win a WS eventually.

And sooner or later market value will make fans stay away because prices to go and enjoy a ballgame have gotten out of hand. Why go and pay $12 for each beer $10-20 for parking and who knows how much per seat :trash:when you can sit at home in front of the big screen (or take it with you on your phone) for a fraction of the price?? Attendance peaked in 2007 and has been dropping every year since looks like fans are saying we've had enough, just like the voters did in 2016... :heh:

Very true from my perspective, a former season ticket holder. It would appear the Former STH, Joe Q Public is now big business STH. I have been relegated to the easy boy

I don't want to block anyone but what is a realistic solution to address our present 3B hole? I can't see putting a player who has only a dozen or starts at the position there on a fulltime basis

To me the solution is Warm Body. The difference between the best 3B and the worst on this Texas Rangers team isn't much of a difference. I don't want to waste big money on long years blocking our young guys in a few years just to win another 2 games this season.

i'm a former season ticket holder and it came down more to the product on the field that turned me off than the prices of the side items. you expect to pay more for the perks

I figured that Winn and Crouse are about even and with Allard, Palumbo, Burke, Phillips etc coming available about the same time to get an Arenado either Winn or Crouse would make sense

Depending on what we do (or don't do) at 3B and/or would drive whether or not I would be open to trading Minor and/or others

That is ridiculous. Those guys are head and shoulders above Allard, Burke and Phillips. Better than Palumbo too.

What use does Colorado have for a DH? Because he sure isn't an everyday OFer
They need to take back some salary to make it work. They might want to get other teams lined up to make it all work.
