37.5MM signing bonus
5MM roster bonus for 2019
8.5MM guaranteed roster for next year.

Pretty much 50 million + sunk into Ben. He's probably on the roster, but immediately IRed for next season. Because why not? And then he'd be on comms with Rudolph or whoever, helping.

well, he was pretty rock solid for almost 15 yrs and won 2 out of 3 superbowls, so i'd say he exceeded expectations, given that the previous 20 yrs worth of Steeler qb's before Ben was....less than stellar, to say the least.
but neil odonnell...

oh. nevermind.

Oh great, the Kaepernick to the Steelers idiots are out.

:burt:
:L Seriously what good would come of this? I don't even care about the non football side of this. If you want to bring back a QB who hasn't played in years just call freaking Jamarcus Russell he wants to play again.

A little harsh but I can take it. [Note to self. Stay away from Kaep jokes.]

But now I'm serious. Does Ben retire? Apologies if this has already been discussed.
If they go 2-14 (assuming they beat the Bengals twice) and if Tomlin/Colbert are still around I bet he tries to come back, because they won't draft a QB early.

Larry Brown approved.
dont you love when they used to pay SB MVP's ungodly amounts of money, for one game? without realiznig the player isnt very good? brown had 1 great year, one good year, and one big superbowl.

Even to this day the Raiders still fall for that.
What is sad he did something in one game (twice) that Moncrief is yet to do this season.

The dark period (Bradshaw to Ben) did have some good Cowher teams that were just missing a triggerman.

Tank for Tua?
If Colbert and Tomlin are still around it won't be Tua. What QB is rated to go in the 4th round? Case Cookus?

So for them it is Cave for Case.

A lot of wasted potential years for dudes like Hines Ward (who still managed a HOF career), Louis Lipps, and Yancey.

Has there ever been a guy who hasn't played people clamor for more than him (which ironically enough they all want him to go to a team that isn't there's)?

But that aside the year should be about figuring out if Mason Rudolph's got it and having that circus right behind him lingering over his every move and having an army of out-of-town dolts calling for Kaepernick every time Rudolph makes a bad throw sounds like a great way to destroy his development.

Seattle learned that lesson the hard way too. Deion Branch never panned out in Seattle despite being SB MVP the year before we signed him.

If they can put up a legit challenge to keep the Pats from getting 7, go ratbirds.

99% of the clowns screaming for Kaepernick to be signed don't even watch football. They are SJW/BLM morons who want him on a team for political reasons and nothing more.
