I am not sure about football helmets which have contact with other helmets during a game or practice...... but hardhats, which you may wear and never have anything hit it, have an expiration date.

Usually 5 years whether anything hit it or not.

I mean for fucks sake, we don't let players decide on the level of safety their equipment will provide!

This idiot can't wear a leather helmet even though at one time that was the norm.

If this Moron is allowed to do this I guarantee you he will next want to sue the NFL for his brain damage....

Who's eaglesnut going to sue for his?

So veterans were given 1 year notification of this.

34 helmet options were given

You could of even gone to the company to get a custom fit helmet.

Ah complains now.

Sorry, but this is starting to look like he doesn’t want to be in Oakland. The guy signed for big money, sure. But the realization that the team is in transition looks like it’s given Antonio Brown a bad attitude.

He arrive to camp in a hot air balloon. He has his personal trainer and masseuse on the field for practices. He is late to meetings and reportedly distracted, playing video games. Then there’s the “accident” with the cryo-therapy booth. So now he can’t run or practice fully. Then he somehow misses the hundreds of notifications that safety equipment has been changed and threatens to retire if he can’t use his old helmet.

About the only behaviors left are to beat up the Gatorade dispenser and to claim that his contract pays slave wages...
I was trying to figure out how his feet were injured when he hasn't played for over a year.

That sounds goofy.

If ODB was wearing one when he had the altercation with the net, he probably wouldn't have had a concussion

That's what OBJ gets for picking a fight w/ an innocent kicking net.

thats what he gets for judging a book by its cover.

Sure Kicking nets seem calm & docile, but in reality they are fierce & with a quick temper.

I think the bottom line is that it doesn't matter whether the new helmets are better at protection than the old ones. Or whether the league office is full of hypocritical assholes. Or whether anybody, be it player, coach, fan or mascot agrees with the rule change. There is just no denying that AB is
A) A total idiot
B) A self centered diva who just wants to collect his money without earning it.

What a waste of oxygen this guy is. The circus is funny to a point but it is fast wearing thin. I'm starting to hope he takes his helmet and walks away like the spoiled brat he is.

Between the cryotherapy session that ended up with him with frost bite on his feet and now this helmet issue??
There is just no way that this guy plays the entire season drama free.

If should scare the crap out of the Oakland fans that even the real nuts out there would be on their best behavior on a new team to make it seem that all the drama last year was the fault of Steelers.

Even if he gets the helmet ..there is zero chance he magically turns into a sane human being.

Gruden responds...

“There’s been a lot of reports out there. I can’t say I agree with all of them, certainly, but I support this guy. I think that’s what needs to be said,” Gruden told reporters after the Raiders’ preseason win over the Rams. “I don’t know what anybody’s writing or what anybody thinks, but this foot injury wasn’t his fault. This was a total accident. It really wasn’t his fault, and it’s a serious injury. I know that some people are [joking] at it, but it’s really not a laughing matter. The guy is hurt, he’s innocent, he didn’t do anything wrong, and the helmet thing is a personal matter to him. He has a strong feeling about what he’s worn on his head, and we’re supporting him. We understand the league’s position as well, so we’re in a tough spot.

I'm losing whatever respect I once had for this man....

Thanks for posting that. Gotta great laugh. Gruden's swining on AB's nuts like they're a jungle gym. The foot injury wasn't AB's fault?:pound: Get the fuck outta Gruden.

He has to tow the company line. Come out publicly as being supportive.

Because in the end Brown will do all the work for him ..and he comes off as the good guy.
