First, My comment was not meant as a sleight to your comment (or the idea you told us about Shams report). Hope you didn't read it as such.

Not sure how this means they didn't or wont try and keep AD. I would doubt any team would ever hang up the phone about any player.

AD was pretty much already out the door. If the Pelicans were serious about trying to keep him, they would leak out how much AD has been open to the idea of playing with Zion or some other feel good crap. Instead they are letting the street know that they are open for business and trying to gin up interest before the season is even over.

Did the Pels say they were open for business or did someone report they were? Guessing the latter.....and that's what I meant. All teams listen to all offers. No big story there.

Well I am assuming that the Pels were the source of this story.

Assuming they are, then history tells us that they are going to deal AD. When teams tell the street they are willing to listen to offers, almost always means they are going to deal a player.
