For all the bashing Clay Helton is a good man. He cares about his players and his staff. Sadly that's going to be his downfall.

Yeah, part of what made those Pet Carroll teams so good was every player knew that he could be replaced and that even his next start wasn't guaranteed.

If Pete didn't feel an assistant was up to standards, he was gone.

I think most Trojans would love to see Helton succeed because he is very well liked. But unless he can learn to be a bit more "cut throat" it won't happen and will cost him his job.

Did you see where the other Ute fan in their game thread was already talking about hope for next year as if this one is a lost cause? You know, they are on a 4 game winning streak all scoring 40 or more points and blowing teams out, but damn do we suck and there's always next year.
