How old were in 1985?
I'm 23 so I wasn't born yet but I watched his stand up as well as many of the all time greats. Not like Murphy had a ton of material. After he got into movies he was done with comedy. Stand up has always been #1 to Chappelle

I think the timing matters. At the time Murphy's big stand up albums and movies come out, his style made him stand out. For me, Murphy is easily in teh discussion for GOAT and he's a walk for the top 10.

Eddie Murphy pre-Transvestite scandal was good. Edgy. Like a black Robin Williams mixed with Pryor.

His later stuff is pretty disposable.

Not a millennial but nostalgia tends to blind objectivity.

if you are 23 you are most definitely a Millennial...

I was under the impression that you had to be born near the 2000's to be a milennial. Regardless, you don't have to be above the age of damn near 40 in order to have a valid opinion on comedy. That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard.

I think Millenials includes anyone born in the 90's as well.

I think...

Boomers = 1945 - 1965
X = 1966 - 1985
Millennial = 1986 - 2005

(all years are rough approximations, of course)

There's no way SNL could fuck up a show with Chappelle AND Tribe.

This is the end for them. They are promoting their final album which I believe they were in the process of putting together when Phife passed.

It's a pretty good album, especially disc 1. You should check it out if you haven't yet. Even Consequence was featured, the rapper who wrote a lot of Beats, Rhymes, and Life (a lot of people don't know that) so he's kind of a pseudo-member of Tribe.

Anyway, Fife was dope on that album. Sucks even more that he passed because it makes you wonder what could have been. Disc 1 was packed with classic tracks.

Yeah, I've listened to it. I agree. It's pretty solid for the first half but starts to fade in the 2nd half. The first 5 or 6 tracks sound like old school Tribe. It's a fitting last album. Lots of bands and groups that reunite after such a long layoff put out crappy albums but this one is pretty darn good. I'm glad they were able to patch things up and get most of it done before Phife passed.

I have FINALLY removed this garbage from my DVR and Hulu watch list. I tried watching last week's episode tonight, and I couldn't even make it through the cold open.

It isn't clear they don't want me as a viewer anyway, so I might as well make all of us happy.

Sad, really. I have been watching this show practically my entire life. I feel like I am in mourning now.

Wow, blast from the past here. Sometimes I forget all shit I post on this website. I don't blame you @calsnowskier . The show is really only worth watching every once in awhile when someone like Chappelle hosts.
