That is the NFL in a nutshell. Who and when do you replace veterans due to age and/or salary? Crowder is due at the end of this year, Doctson has two more years. Trent is getting older and more injury prone, how much do you pay for a 3rd tackle. Finding younger less expensive talent is the key to being a good team and continuing to be a good team.
Preston Smith is the one to likely command the most in that group, and is my choice for most likely to leave.
Crowder has had a good year and a bad year so far. A lot will depend on this year for him.
Nsekhe might walk to a better offer...
Lanier won't command a huge contract and is replaceable otherwise.
Colt McCoy may be in line for another team friendly deal but may choose to leave on his own accord.
Not going to defend Snyder here but in the past 4 years things have begun to change in terms of signing over the hill FA's or giving away draft picks. Snyder deserves some sort of credit for staying the F out of the way for the most part. You have to hit in the draft, have younger players perform well enough to replace older pricey veterans and of course buy-in to what the HC is selling. Hungry talented young football players out to make a name for themselves (don't kid yourself they are all looking for that big pay day) are the players you need sprinkled in with a few "not over the hill" vets to make a run at a Championship. Each winning formula is different, just look at the Eagles roster last year to emphasize young talented hungry players which they have along with a few seasoned vets which they brought in via FA and some good mojo and there you have it.drafting and valuing drafts picks are key to being good not making splashes in FA . not sure synder gets that and some people on this board
